A the teen and non-asd one, but due to the decreased communication skills, lack of eye contact theres not much difference at time !! he is into BMXing, skateboarding, mountainboarding, climbing, snowboarding.

T has had a go at mountainboarding but never liked the motion or speed, he wont even ride his bike since he got knocked off it last year. Although I'm sure he could participate in extreme amounts of TV and sofa potatoness if given half the chance.

It is well known that most kids with AS dislike team sports. There doesn't seem to be any research done into whether kids with AS participate in extreme sports.

yes i do free running its a sport were the idea is to run over everything and anything ie you start running and if there is a wall in your way you jump over it if there is a building in your way you jump over it if there is a gap in you way you jump over it if there is a drop in your way you jump dowen it

the sport requires a lot a phisics know how as you have to match your bodys center of gravity point with the earths gravity and you need a lot of ballance a lot of the jumps are base around animals like the cat and the antalope you need to transfer your bodys forware momentim in to your lags and sprin load your mussels and then relse going first up then transfering your bodys wegt and energy forward thats how a 10 ft jump and the same princaple applies to higher jumps though i cant do most of the higher ones as im over wait lol

It doesn't look like extreme sports are popular with AS kids at all. I have come across some AS kids that use roller blades and BMXs and one that drives motor boats but that isn't an extreme sport. Roller blades have declined in popularity since the 1990s and the kids only use BMXs for transport rather than stunt riding. Many of them ride BMXs because they have difficulty using gears. Other extreme sports such as snowboarding are expensive and require specialist facilities.

my c's only little but he shows great interest in skateboarding, he try's but doesn't have the co-ordination just yet though i don't think it'll be that long . but if we're in the park his favourite thing is to go watch the big boys in the skate park!
