  1. I know that feeling not being able to tackle it, i just feel exhausted and my patience is dwindling and beating myself up because of this but i intend to learn more about my sons diagnosis HFA and try to be patient. After all i keep telling myself none of us are perfect and nobody made a manual on how to be a mum especially one with a child on the Autism Spectrum. All the best for 2008.
  2. Do you follow any particular diet, his speech etc is fine, just need to boost his concentration and calm him down. That may sound terrible as i said i class myself lucky but i just feel exhausted most of the time and dont really want to medicate him until really necessary. Thanks.
  3. Dont know if this helps but i felt there was something different with my son from early on but put it down to my postnatal depression, when i stated this to my doc he was by then around 2 years old, he was very demanding, hyper and always seemed to be upset. He then was put in touch with several professionals ie speech therapy, behavioural therapist, occupational therapist and after 2.5 years as a last resort he was sent to an autism clinic which the proffesionals wanted to rule autism out but told me they didnt feel he was autistic. 4 weeks later at the clinic i was given the diagnosis of HFA, which was a major shock as i couldnt see it but lately with a bit of learning on the subject i am seeing the signs more and more. I feel if you have worries get your little one checked. I was totally convinced my child was not autistic and ended up wrong. If you can give me some advice on diet or supplements i would really appreciate it as you obviously know alot more about this than i do.
  4. My 6 Year old son was diagnosed last year with HFA, at the time i found it very hard to believe and even his teacher told me to get a 2nd opinion. I have been lucky as he is very loveable, sociable etc but to the extreme. Lately ive been starting to notice certain behaviours escalating and his HFA more noticeable. He is constantly on the go,never stops, very hyper and seems not to be hearing me when i try to discipline him as he goes back and does it again. I apologize for my naivety but i need some advice on what i could give him to calm him down and what i should be doing with his diet which might help his concentration and behaviour. He is a beautiful boy and i count myself lucky but i just feel exhausted!!!!! ANY Advice would be greatly appreciated. THanks.
