I wondered if anyone would ask him if he wanted to manage them himself as others have had happen on here, mine would! and would use it for all the wrong reasons, so wondered if they would discuss it with your son? Enid
  2. Hi, my son is nearly 14, and I believe he has mental health problems, as well as ASD/ADHD, he went daily for an assessment at age 11 when he received his ASD diagnosis, as his behaviour became more bizarre and out of control, I begged for him to go somewhere for a residential assessment but was told there wasnt anywhere, one dreadful night when 3 burly policeman couldnt control him, he went to an assessment centre as an emercency placement, it was whilst there his "other" behaviours were observed and others finally saw how he could change in the blink of an eye, incidently prior to this his ASD behaviours became really obvious and he seemed to become "more autisic". sorry, this isnt very clear! running out of time, but I would have thought the choice was yours, if there is a need to obseve him, perhaps they could do home visits or he could go daily? Hi, did they speak to your son and ask him if he wanted it paid into his own account? Enid
  4. This is throwing up more questions than answers and I am beginning to wish I hadnt thrown away my forms!! my son is now huge, nearly 14, and regularly assaults his teachers, there was an incident over the summer when he assaulted a member of the public, now I`m thinking what if they sue me? Enid
  5. Hi got mine yesterday, re my son, was a bit surprised I must say! Then I got to thinking it may cover me for the damage he does to other peoples property or the taxi, not sure if the house insurace would cover this, then I just threw it away. But if you have a child who can be violent/agressive/destructive like mine, perhaps in this day and age you could be sued? Enid
  6. Hi Joybed, yes I know your story, having similar here with son also in year 9 but at special school, too tired for long reply but just sending support from someone who knows how you are feeling, after a pretty settled period we know we are on the slippery slope again, keep strong. will try to post a better reply when less tired!!! Enid
  7. Hi Suzy, so glad to read your news, let us know how she is going on. Enid
  8. Mine also challanges anyone when "on one" the first time I phoned the police, in despair, they were shocked, he was 12 and little and yet they couldnt control him, had to cuff his arms and legs in the end, it was the most awful sight, I will never forget it, they wont come anymore unless there is 3 of them!!! Luckily, I havnt needed them for a year, but came pretty close last week. How you going on with the book? Enid
  9. If you read any of my back posts, it could be me posting, 18 months ago. my son is on resperidone, and without it is just like yours, the dose was coming down slowly over the last year, but when we got to 1.5 mg it started heppening again, and I havee put it back up to 3 mg, but this week will bring down to 2.5 and see how it goes, it is impossible to cope alone, I felt like hiring a bodyguard! so feel for you, hope things improve soon. Enid

  13. I saw them in the NAS monthly mag. but if you cant get him to have a tracker on his phone it wouldnt be any good, he would just take it off!! Pity we cant micrp chip them!!!! Enid
  14. I saw those tracking devices that you can put on them recently, they are a brilliant idea, my lad would just take them off but they would be a life saver for some. Enid
  15. Lorry, this is what we all dread isnt it...... we just muddle through day by day putting it off as long as we can, why are your friends shocked, they should be shocked at how much you have had to put up with and the fact you have no support, thats shocking. It nearly happened to mine last year at 12, after a years relative calmness we are in crisis again, so I have some idea how you feel. Could you just look on it like an older child living away from home? My 20 yr old does, he comes for his dinner on Sunday, and brings his washing Tuesdays, he is an hour late, hence me on the computor at this time! he has no problems, just shares a flat with his friends, but I was still gutted when he went, although I have got used it it now. You could just see it as him living away at college etc and still have daily contact and see him weekends/hols etc You will know when the time is right am sending you much love and support.keep strong. x Enid
  16.
