I guess it ain't everyone's thing. And the Nobody Nowhere album is very different to the second album, Mutation (to compare the two you can hear clips of the tracks on my site) The Nobody Nowhere stuff was compared to Enya's work, which was strange but yes, they do have a relateable effect on people, both are hypnotic, true. The second one has spoken word stuff on it and is more experimental. Have just formed a band, Donna and the Aspinauts hope to get a clip onto You Tube some time with as yet unrecorded tracks. :-) Donna *)

Hi folks, My name is Donna Williams and I feel like I've been around forever in the Autism world. My first book came out in 1991 and changed the stereotypes of Autism that today's diagnoses reflect. Many of you diagnosed as adults would have been diagnosed after recognising yourself in Nobody Nowhere. For that I would like to say, I hope that helped open up a world of help and understanding to you. I went on to write a total of 9 published books in the field of Autism, did 7 DVDs and 2 CDs, a mountain of artworks and sculptures and basically feel very ARTistic! Its funny but I was never really creative! As I became less Autistic I became more Artistic. I'm sure I was always Artistic but my ARTism was hidden, part of my Autism and I had no understanding or interest in showing or sharing my inner world. Today I'm pretty cool with that. We all have personality traits and so we are all different. I'm madly compulsively arty I'm equally as sompulsively solitary. I'm pretty conscientious and have my obsessive benders and phases. But I've also struggled with OCD. The obsessive/compulsive behaviours of OCD are never fun, enjoyable or part of my sense of self. They are fleas and annoying and inhibiting and eat up the time I'd like to spend on voluntary things. Nobody wants medication for obsessive compulsive personality traits. A lot of people with OCD want this impulse control disorder off their back so they can do compulsive and obsessive things they HAVE chosen to do. The sooner we know one condition from the other, the sooner we understand who does and does not suffer from obsessions and compulsions, why and how to help or not help accordingly.
