Over in the pinned "New Forum - Problems and Suggestions" thread, Zemanski raised a concern about the recent split of the "General Discussion" forum, into on-topic discussions (to stay in that forum) and "Off Topic" discussions ... So I thought I'd put it to the people - who loves it, who hates it, and who's indifferent about it? (Newbies who weren't around before the split over Christmas can choose the final option in the poll. ) Of course it's up to the admins and moderators to decide whether or not to take your views on board and make any changes (should the "hate"s outnumber the "love"s), but I just thought I'd put some feelers out on this anyway. Thanks for your participation ... James

The split is a good thing, if you ask me. But then I'm an Aspie, so I'm bound to prefer things well-organised and systematic! I can see the other side of the argument though, and how pre-split there was a more obvious sense of community here. I'm gonna start a poll on it though, I think ... just coz it's a good excuse for me to play with the polling buttons here mainly. Remember some of us (e.g. me!) don't frequent this forum as often as others (e.g. you!)! So a slower-moving forum can be a blessing. I hate feeling overwhelmed when I've got all behind with everything. James

Well this is a bit of a vague memory now, if you look at the date I joined! But I think it was just someone posting about this place, when it was brand new, on a forum I occasionally checked, but no longer check. I'll check it now though, so you've got the URL to hand. Okay - I've find the exact post in fact! This is it: http://pub44.bravenet.com/forum/3697544294/fetch/142519/3 And the site where it is based is: http://www.angel-images.com/adhd&as.htm I got to the post in question just now by clicking on the "Adult Message Forum" link on the left-hand side, then going to Page 3, and then scrolling down to the post entitled "UK Based Forum" written by Andrew on September 9th, 2003 at 10:48am. (I joined this forum 8 days after that post was made.) If you can't be arsed to look, the post reads as follows ... James

Boys & Girls with co-morbids?? (for Viper)
Gordie replied to Tylers-mum's topic in General Discussion
I'm still waiting to find out what co-morbids are! I see now ... Thanks, lil me. I'll count myself as a "boy" then. James -
Nope, but inclusion worked perfectly fine for me, for what it's worth. Okay - so I hadn't been diagnosed with Asperger's when I was a school kid, but I think I was better off where I was than I would've been in a special school. James
-
What are "co-morbids"? I think you'd be better off just asking the question, without doing a poll. Looks like there are too many options you want to use, and personally I find them confusing anyway. James

Okay - this is complicated! I'm right-handed generally, but left-footed generally. I know - it's weird already, but it gets weirder! I'm a right-handed writer, and when playing cricket (which doesn't happen often! ), I'm a right-handed batsman. But I'm a left-arm bowler and a left-arm thrower!! Get your head around that!! James EDIT: Okay - from scanning the responses, I see a few others are just as bonkers as me. Yeah - there has to be a link between this and ASDs, surely.

Thanks - we're making up for lost time now. I've saved no fewer than 65 pics of her today. Yeah - I've got it bad!! James -

Thank you, Cilla! Looks like she's added me to her Yahoo! Messenger list now, so you've done your job admirably. James -
Hi there, debbie28 ... Recognise yourself? http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcthree/parenting/li.../series3d.shtml (Scroll down a bit. ) James

That is so important to me when I come here - thank you for mentioning it. <'> James

Angelic nellie?!?! Surely not! James

Hi there. Thought I'd better poke my nose in this thread, while it's still new, as Viper keeps telling me that you and I should become friends. James -
You must hate me - I'm such a nag when it comes to techie issues! James
-
Yep! It worked! Thank you! Does that mean I've now placed 2 votes in this poll though (one for 2 different options), or just this latest vote? James
-
Excellent reasoning (except for the Elefan thing - ). Don't forget to replace the logo on the main front page, once littlenemo has made that change! James
-
Oooh! The new logo is here!! Looks like littlenemo is the winner then - well done, you! Matches the background colour at the top of the page too. James
-
Very funny!! James
-
Well I approve of the changes, particularly the upgraded forum software, even if the aesthetics still need a bit of touching-up (which of course you're gradually dealing with anyway, in part through the logo competition). And I, too, was very impressed with the speed at which it was all achieved. Amazed, in fact!! So ... I'm Scottish then, if I'm "Ben Nevis". Gotta beat being a Lieutenant, as I was briefly, anyway. It would be nice to be able to post with all the smilies in the box visible, without having to scroll up, down, left and right to see some of them. That's a bit of a hassle that didn't used to exist. Still no sign of it! James
-
Hey - how about ... *shock horror* ... a picture of YOURSELF?!?! Or am I the only one with any balls around here? James
-
Oooh! I'm sooooooo tempted to nit-pick at this post, Viper!! James
