    The Batcave

Sally, who has been comatose for 2 days, after the curry and pinot grigio night,(she doesn't get out much, except picnics) steps out of the Batcupboard with a mouth like Ghandi's flipflop. "What's going on?" "Sally, how could you sleep through Judge Thredd's fruity flabby wuff wuff's?" After a quick Cupoftea, they send her off to the Debriefing room, and Suze suggest's a pamper day at the hairdresser's while Judge Thredd keeps the LEA spy outforthecount with his fruity flabby wuff wuff's, (one of his many talent's) before they return him to CountyHall that night. So off the Girl's go, leaving Judge Thread (with botty poised ready for action and Cinderella Boydoing the washing up.)
  5. I can't appeal until the statement is finalised. All I've done is ask for an appointment to discuss some changes in the proposed statement, and they won't give me one until the final statement is drawn up. It's obvious they don't want the IPSEA lady there, and are trying to put me off. The letter I've written to the director of education, just says if I don't get a meeting date within 7 days, they should finalise, and I will appeal if I have any further concerns. Sonia, they did that to me as well with the statutory assessment three weeks from the tribunal date. because the headmistress of his school was my witness. s xxx

    The Batcave

Polite knock, "Suze, it's Sally, you said I could come in your cupboard. The devil LEA officer Mzzz Grumpbladder is after me," "Aha," says Suze,"come in, this could be our first mission. Did you bring booze and pringles?" She opens the cupboard door and lets in Sally. There follows a steady consumption of more bevvies and snacks. "Hic," says Suze, carelessly tossing aside the bottles, and curls up in the corner and falls fast asleep. "Look at the mess in here", says Sally. "I think they need Kim'n'Aggie to come in sort out the cupboard. The superheroes are looking decidely dodgey these days" "Do'nt worry", says Annie,"we will get Mzzz Grumpbladder tomorrow"...
  7. Cheers guys, Baddad, you're like Job's comforter! this was me,this morning, sneaking past the school gate..hoping no-one would see me..headmaster was seeing the kids in.. spotted my little fella.. and asked me if I was ok..oh no! he saw me too! budge over Suze, can I join you in the cupboard? 8. I was sitting in the car, just before picking D up from skool this afternoon, when I thought "the director of Education will've got my letter by now" and I had to jump out quick, because I got this awful feeling, and I was all over the grass in front of all the other mums. Felt so embarrassed. Does the thought of the LEA do this to anyone else?? Or am I losing it??
  9. Forgot to say the letter arrived with no postage on it, so I had to collect it from the delivery office and pay to recieve it then I couldn't get on the forum first thing , IPSEA's helpline was closed until 1pm, and the lady who I've been speaking to was out. I kept it together think I'm getting better at this. s xxx
  10. Ho hum, the SENCO phoned the LEA and also requested a meeting, but I got a letter this morning basically repeating the last letter; so after calling IPSEA and getting more advice from them, I've just written a letter saying if they don't get back to me with a date for the meeting within 7 days, to go ahead and finalise the statement, and I will appeal to SENDIST. Hopefully that will do the trick s xxx
  11. www.ipsea.org.uk scroll down, look under 11 case laws 3 third case law sorry can't do kinks s xxx
  12. Really odd that you should bring this up, 'cos I've just been nosing on IPSEA's website, and they had a case law or something, about 'transport not being stressful.' S xxx
  13. I've already checked, and they can't refuse, but they have very craftily worded the letter to avoid a meeting. I think this is to delay things as long as possible.I just had to come and tell someone 'cos I am so peed off. s xx
  14. I asked for an appointment, and they have said in their reply, "consider taking proposed statement to the SENCO. If I then have any concerns let them know before we finalise, and if I still have any concerns, she will be happy to meet." I've sent a copy to the IPSEA lady, and she has pointed out that there is still a lack of detail of his provision, and "minimum of 12 1/2 hrs" she said does this mean he could recieve more, and if so why is it not specified in the proposed statement? I am unhappy about some of the wording they have put in, lots of "will benefit from access" and "will require" so I've written back to say i would like to meet for the second time as it's only delaying things from being completed. I'm getting so bl$$dy cheesed off with these people. S xxx
  15. Are you thinking about Makaton? s xxx
  16. Viper, Im a bit clumsy at wording this sort of thing, so ignore me if you want to, firstly I wouldn't accept from the teacher that Ben is upset because of not attending nursery, there are very good reasons why he did'nt, and they are becoming evident now. He has just had his dx, and if I remember rightly, he was refused a statutory assessment. I would be asking all of this to be documented,as evidence that Ben is'nt coping, and quite possibly is'nt in the right school placement. And asking for the school to support you with a stat assessment for Ben. I'm sure you would feel happier about pushing him to go to school, if you knew that they were handling things in the right way. Personally, I don't think much of the school's way of handling things this morning, it's tantamount to bullying. Give it another try, but don't feel you've got to make him, it's only going to make things worse. My son had teachers that did'nt accept his dx, did'nt understand the autistic spectrum disorder, and shouted at him every day, until he was in such a state. I moved him to another school with a fantastic head, and he was placed in a class, where the teacher had experince with children on the spectrum. Although it took a lot of hard work and a long time, he slowly built up his confidence again, and he changed from an anxious frightened little boy into quite a lad. I regret pushing him into going to a school that, with hindsight, made things so much harder for him, when he already had enough to cope with. It took a lot of rebuilding to help him enjoy school, and his new first school was pretty amazing with him. If he had stayed where he was, he would be having a hell of a time now. I've learnt from that experience, not to go with what every one else thinks, and I visited 4 schools before choosing his middle. It meant picking a school that he only had 3 of his friends going, and an awkward school run, but I'll do it because i already he has settled in, and made new friends. The SENCO is good, and the teacher knows what she is doing. There was a lot of opposition from school about moving him away from all his friends, as they were going to the middle attached to the first, and they felt he needed to be with children he already knew. But I had a strong gut feeling, that the SENCO there was rubbish, and the school was'nt right for him. Viper, I would ask for a meeting with the school, and tell them this can't go on. Try and get them on your side that he needs a assessment/statement. Ask school to contact the LEA so that they know what is happening, and go with the feeling inside that you can't make Ben do this. Hope that does'nt make you feel worse than you already do, I just wish someone had told me to stop making him go to that damn place at the time. Take care S xxx
  17. Well done Tez, enjoy your holiday S XXX
  18. Baddad, sorry about your migraine. Hope your ok now. *just in time* for Emma( little girl). I realised at 2.57pm that I should be picking her up, and got there bang on 3pm. Was in plenty of time for David, who came out at 3.15pm. Wont do it again. Kathryn, so good to see you back. Found his jumper, tucked under his coat, someone had put it in his bag! Glad your son went in so well. Take care S xxx
  19. Hi Nellie, It was a very special day. Funny how it started with an awkward handshake, and ended in hugs all round. Was a bit embarrassed about bringing my own tea! I tend to pack the kitchen sink for a day out so I dont have to queue or spend more money! Forgot to mention Badders perched on the baby swings, and Ben, being hoisted under the armpits by his dad, who was trying to get him in jail, putting a foot each side of the door so he couldnt be put in there. It was great to let my hair down, and have a laugh. Something Ive needed to do for a long time. Ive been on a real roller coaster ride this year. Just having another adult for company made it easier, and much more fun than going it alone. The kids really took to Badders, he was like a magnet for the all the kids there, and it was very touching to see him and Ben together. It was the perfect end to the holidays. The kids were covered in dirt from head to toe, and it didnt matter. The bath was literally black, after theyd been in it. Sorry for anyone who could have made it, and didnt spot the post in the meet up thread, it was there for Kent and Sussex peeps, and anyone else .... The real stars were the kids themselves, they made the day. S xxx
  20. Will tell them in the morning. Hows Bens new teacher? Is she still glad he is in her class??!! Did you have a good rest? My house was a bogging pit this morning so had to get the old feather duster out. Then I went to catch up on some sleep, and nearly missed the school pickup. Was justintime........
  21. He looked a bit lost this morning, very quiet, wouldnt eat breakfast. Brushed his teeth and got dressed without a fight, said very little. Talked nonstop since hometime, made new friends and wants a big birthday party. Teacher came out with him holding his hand because he was worried I wouldnt be at the school gate( got little one at other school) lost his school jumper already. How did everyone else get on?? S xxx
  22. Kathryn, they are a crumby lot, your LEA. Good to see you back, you have been very missed. S XXX
  23. We met up at the enchanted forest. The boys went off and got on well to start with, then we had "I want to be the first" "I WANT TO BE THE LEADER" "CAN WE SNEAK OFF NOW" "Im having the worst day of my life!" (from my boy!) Then we had lunch, and the boys found an affinity chasing peacocks, climbing trees and jumping on the tables! Poor old Badders got collared giving piggy backs to my little girl, we played Robin Hood in the forest, and B got to be the sheriff, so we chased them and tried to get them in jail, but it had no door so they kept escaping! Spent ages trying to guess the password to open the door to the underworld, so Ben kicked the magic stone, and all 3 asked all the staff at the icecream kiosk what the passord was. Went on swings and screamed like girls!! Fed the fishes, and went in the tepee, and voted to go back and play robin hood (groans from me and Badders !) went on the pinchy bum swings, and more chasing. Ben weighs a ton! We was nearly the last to go, more laughing at the peacocks(or pigeons with a stretched neck!!) We had the best day (from mine again) (absolutes!) Was such a good day, Ben is georgeous, Badders is very funny. My feet ache, but is a good ache. Thank both for a lovely day. s <'> xxx
  24. Hope your boys had a good day at their new school s xxx
