  1. Drew has Eye-Q capsules also. We missed them over half-term and boy, could you tell. He also has a mulitvit and an Actimel.
  2. Drew is worse at school than at home. Having recently had an assessment, they think it might be a sensory thing where the hustle and bustle and noise in the school environment triggers him. His class teacher is fantastic as is his headteacher. They have developed all sorts of strategies to help him get through the day with getting himself into trouble (e.g. a calming ryhme he has to say to himself before he hits someone!!) and for the last 6 weeks (since moving up to Year 1 in a mixed class with Reception) he seems to have 'matured' as his teacher put it.
  3. Hi everyone, I thought it was about time I introduced myself (I've lurked for a while and have to say that this is a great forum). I'm Maz, aged 37, married, mother of 5year old Drew, not yet diagnosed but suspected Asperger's. He has had various assessments since the age of 3 when he was having difficulty socialising at Nursery. It all came to a head when he started school but his teacher and the school are fantastic, they are really helping him through his difiiculties. He has his first proper assessment for ASD (at the request of the school) in August but the consultant does not yet want to give a firm dignosis. He displays are lot of traits/charachteristics butothers simply don't apply. Next on the cards is speech/language assessment and the they'll see him again in Jan '08. I've picked up loads of advice in the last few months and I look forward to chatting to you some more.
