Amanda32 Report post Posted November 17, 2004 I've looked at Carol Gray's website and decided to go for The New Social Story Book. Dont want to have too many books at once try and focus on one for now.

mellymel Report post Posted May 16, 2005 We've recently had a talk on social stories and you can actuaaly make your own Example Going to the hairdressers, put a photo of your son/daughter on the first page and go through each step i.e taxi ride, bus or car journey, a photo of the hairdressers some of the things they might see there hairdryer , scissors, shavers and then a final picture of your son once they've had there hair cut or just a visit to look around. Then you can personlise it i.e This is the bus Mummy and billy need to catch to the hairdressers. You can then make a social story about anything i.e toileting, going to bed The list is endless. There are plenty of books to help you with this on the NAS website www.nas.org.uk Sorry that was a bit long winded but you get the gist.
