Kathryn Report post Posted January 28, 2007 Sorry hedders I don't know of anything personally, as it's not my neck of the woods. Hopefully someone will come along who does. Usual request - if anyone has information about particular schools please could you pm hedders rather than naming the schools on the forum - thanks! JsMum Report post Posted January 28, 2007 Paris site on NAS is a good resource centre, type in the type of school you require and location and it will give you a list. Google special schools that is also useful and bristol to minimise the search. You can ask your local LEA to send you a copy of all the special schools that provide support for children with ASD in your area. NAS have a educational advice line they could provide you more details. NAS have a website and helpline. NAS have produced two very useful booklets for children in the classroom and children in the playground and lunchtime very good to have a an idea of the things that you would like the school to consider and some of the difficulties your child may have. Very useful reading in preperation to school as there is useful ideas and steps that parents, teacher and the pupil can take to make it as stressfree as possible. Your local parent support group may also provide a list of schools that support ASD pupils. There is also a special schools publication booklet from a well known website for school information your libraries and NAS support groups will have these to have to loan. Good Luck and with the preperations. JsMum
