rach04 Report post Posted September 17, 2007 guess what................ after 3 years of pestering......................... all by himself................... he has put a request into ips for a consultation this is what it says (ive had it home to sign) problems with socializing/empathizing with others. J likes to lead others/dictate roll play and demand time off others. He becomes overly-obsessed with activities(clubs)during playtime-clubs which he has initiated himself. Information gathered and/or assessment undertaken to clarify concerns/issues Assessment - obs in situations/discussions with other members of staff.Discussions with parents/ed.psych at review meeting and during other assessment time. what actions have been taken to address concerns ? Circle time/pshe work = discussion of friendships / communication. Encouraging inclusive activities which allow opportunities for different children to lead at different times. What have been the outcome of these actions? J wants to dominate / quite restraint to the change in group structure. Excessive time demands on others. Over cajoling of children to join the groups. Activities being stretched out over long periods - weeks (UNREALISTIC) what do you hope to achieve as a result of ips Find ways of including peers in his play without putting excessive strain on them. Find ways of developing Js skills in working with others - playground/classroom, ensuring that there is more of a balance in decision making. I asked ips to an assessment 2 years ago over the very same thing but he boo hooed it and they dropped it. But j has only been in his class for 2 weeks and ive already got 3 appointments coming up that hes organized. Looks like hes realized what a strain on a lsa J is.
