Hi joker58

Welcome to the forum, Nellie as given you lots of good advice an so many other's will on here aswell. Cant say that much really but my son was statemented when he was nearly 4yrs old. He already had help before the statement due to his bowel problem's etc. Then we had to see a ED Psychologist to discuss his needs along with other doctor's, meetings with someone from ed dept. It is a pain at first as I had to repeat myself all the time over again..... but once your child gets the statement it gets alot easier i can assure you. When i have to go to meetings now for a review of his statement its just to see if anything needs to come off or add on etc and his progress. My advice is do what Nellie said and speak to the teacher's or the ed dept and go from there but take no stick keep on if they dont listen, if anything demand you want help and support.

Hope you get things sorted out very soon

Take care

Let us know how things went.

Amanda

Hi Joker unsure of your circumstances but we made a parental request for statutory assessment.Schools can also request. You put this in writing to the lea.I,m pretty sure Nellie will have given you all the necessary links.Parent Partnership can also advise.Check out the SEN code of practice and request the SEN toolkit from DFES (I think). The whole process can take a long time even though there are guidlines , we had no major problems and it still took 6mnths.Goodluck with everything keep us posted.:thumbs:

Hi Joker,

It is Mrs Gobby here!! - You know who I am!!

The books that Nellie has recommended, are going to be ordered for our library so don't go to any expense.

Stick with the forum - apart from being a goldmine of information, there is never any shortage of support and the non-judgemental attitude of the contributors is really important when you sometimes are baring your soul.

Hope world war three in your house has now reached a truce

Best wishes

HelenL
