chris54 Report post Posted September 24, 2008 Went to see "A" teacher and SENCO today. A has only just started at the school. We moved from different council area and things here are done very differently to where we used to live. Where we live before they were very good on doing reports but they never seemed to lead to anything. We did get a diagnosis earlier this year of ASD, before we moved but then it all ground to a halt. Anyway SENCO is hoping that with all these reports we have on A, we will be able to use them to get the statement sort. Seeing someone tomorrow to see about this. The school are really supported in this. His teacher and the head are very keen to get him the extra support he needs. Lets hope it don't take to long. Flora Report post Posted September 24, 2008 Sounds very promising Chris. You can also apply for a statutory assessment as a parent, you don't have to wait for the school to do so. If you already know you have their back up then it might be a good idea to get the ball rolling sooner rather than later as it is quite a lengthy process.
