darkshine Report post Posted July 9, 2012 Really really really so ###### tired and I swear that 4 and a half hours sleep is just indecent.... Basically someone rang the house phone and woke me up 40 minutes ago (when they were apparently asked to phone someone's mobile...) And it's one of those times where once I'm awake, I'm awake Plus, since I'm home alone and there's nobody to hear me rant I thought I'd rant here - because right now I just want to rip the plug from the wall and launch the thing under any of the nice loud lorries that are going past my window, and since that would be pretty expensive I'm probably not going to do that, but if I don't rant somewhere then I'm gonna just spontaneously combust!!! Mannify Report post Posted July 9, 2012 Grrrrrrr! I'm like that - once woken, forever woken. Grrrrrrrrrrr again.
darkshine Report post Posted July 9, 2012 Yeah, I'm getting the feeling it's gonna be a loooooooooong day - unless I crash in the afternoon for an hour or 2 - which I don't seem to be able to do these days At one time you could have had a bulldozer destroying the house and I wouldn't have woken up, but these days I seem to wake up at any little noise. I'm less angry now nothing like a good rant eh?
robert7111a Report post Posted July 9, 2012 I'm less angry now nothing like a good rant eh? Hear! Hear! I'm the same, once I'm awake in the early hours...difficult, if not impossible for me to get back to sleep until about 6am when its time to get up anyway (often for a 12hour workday)

darkshine Report post Posted July 9, 2012 I just laughed for the whole 10 minutes - the snoring and clocks are things that drive me insane when I can't sleep - and the camel spit milk, the story and the lullaby made me ###### myself and the alarm clock and insanity were pretty funny too! It does a great job of showing how it feels to not sleep - I love Ren and Stimpy - I used to watch it every day when I was about 15. Nice one, thanks, really cheered me up

Mannify Report post Posted July 10, 2012 Sorry, Robert, I'm a bit forward with the interrogations, aren't I? I'm just pathologically fascinated by medical training because my baby sister (she's 19, I'm 35; she's 6ft, I'm 5ft, lol) has just finished her first year at Med school. I think she wants to do A&E, although she's also interested in being a GP. I'm jealous of her patients, she's gonna be such a lovely doc. Anyway, please just ignore me
darkshine Report post Posted July 10, 2012 Hey, if you don't ask you won't get an answer - sometimes you might ask and not get an answer anyway, but at least by asking you get a higher percentage chance of an answer

Anyway, please just ignore me Hey Mannify, I am not one to ignore people. But I am not a doctor so don't have the higher medical training that is required of them. I specialise in hearing disorders (mainly adult) and have my own specialist interest in the mechanics and physiology of the ear, unilateral hearing loss and auditory processing disorders (APD) which seems to be very common in children on the autistic spectrum and the elderly. I hope your baby sister gets through the study/long hours/little chances of sleep etc. Anyone who can survive A&E can be a doctor in anything. If I can help in any way, do let me know. I consider myself to be open and friendly (though some might disagree) so feel free to ask (or PM) anything you like (within reason of course! ). I can also be a bit forward too
