Hi Kerre - just read your post - my son is wanting a PSP for Xmas (he's an avid PS2 fan) so I'm just interested to now why you don't rate it? Expensive if it's not worth it!

Luv Witsend.

Well, kind of the analogue stick is bad, because it's too low down and quite flat. And the DS means more gaming options, as it has two screens, one of which is a touch screen, and it supports well-known characters like Mario and Link and stuff. And also I've always been a huge fan of Nintendo :P

If you asked someone with an Xbox what games they like, they'd say 'Halo 2'. But if you ask them what else, they just kind of stare at you like guppies.

A's got both a psp and a ds and he much prefers the psp even though the games are still quite limited. He likes it because it has all the effects of the PS2, it's portable and plays dvds and music, the games he tells me are very addictive.

He's also got the dogs game for the DS which he bought on holiday in America so had it for a few weeks and he really loves it. His first dog was a Laborador called Bobby, he died(A deleted him because he wasn't affectionate and didn't listen, didn't pay attention, he was just evil(A's words), his second was Blackie a Shiba Inu, who he still has, the third was Charles a miniture Snauchwer who he donated to the dog hotel because he was moody and did nothing, just sat with a sad face no matter what he did for him, he'd pet him, take him to the park but still would do nothing, his current dog is Magic a Laborador Retriever who is highly intelligent, very affectionate and playful. Can't you tell he loves this game.

I really have entered a parallel universe :wacko::wacko::wacko:

This must be what the world is like for our kids - I did not understand a word of what you guys were on about.

Carole was talking about them today on the phone - and I did not want to display my ignorance :blink::blink:

Witsend, it didn't really die A deleted it because it wouldn't obey his commands. I not sure if they really have a lifespan and will die a natural death or not.

I had to go and get Nintendogs on Friday - the day it came out, as R has been waiting for it for four months!

R has the Daschund one and M has the Chihua (sp?) one. They seem like good fun - BUT they have to train them to sit/lie down, etc by talking to them so we have had

"Tom - sit" "Tom - lie down" "

"Amber - paws" "Amber - stay"

etc etc - you get the picture!

It drives me mad - it is worse cos my other son is Tom, so I don't know if he is annoying R, or if R is talking to his dog!

The Twins told me that the dogs don't die, but you can give them away.

I have no interest in the PS/Xbox/Game cube - but I must admit the ds looks like fun - I have blown bubbles in it and made a snowman - but they won't let me have a go very often!

Helen Hen,

You dont know what you're missing. If your still confused, a DS is a hand held games console and the Nintendogs is a game for it.If you can remember Tamagochi, there like a very sophisticated version of them. The dogs are very realistic and they have to be trained to respond to their masters voice. Both my sons went out and bought them on Friday (age 19 and 15!) We have had doggie commands all weekend too.

The real dog, poor thing doesn't get a look in and is very confused. She doesn't know whether to sit lie down sneeze or play dead. I'm sure she thinks she lives in a mad house.

Kerre,

my son laughed when I read him your post about X box, but he said they'd say Halo cos nobody liked Halo 2

Edith - what are you doing still up.

My big lad (nearly 22) had a Tamogotchi first time round and just recently Jordan had one as well.

He still has all his Furbies and there is the new generation coming out.

I don't do games I'm afraid - dad does them - I do the culture and nervous breakdowns!

Love

Helly Hen

My DD's boyfriend works in Game and on Saturday DD brought home 3 nintendogs of the cuddly toy variety. She gave one to Ben who loves it and has kept one small and one large for herself. She figures if she keeps them in their bag they will sell well on E-Bay in a few years. B)

Kerre, you can use the PSP without the analogue stick, they can be taken off,I never even got one with my PSP(just has the standard 'D' pad)photo of mine:-

The 'D' pad is easy and effective to use so it is worth checking out if it's just the controls that are the issue. B)

Witsend,if he's a SONY fan then it's well worth getting B) it follows the same game styles as the PS2,so expect mass sequels, but for the SONY fans who know what to expect from them they will not be disappointed,it's a fantastic bit of kit and is worth the money in my opinion.

I also have a SONY cybershot digital camera, and a SONY clie PDA so the PSP has the added bonus of viewing pictures, films etc from both as they all use the same memory format.

Re.Nintendogs.

I'd like to play it,but don't have a DS,or want one,the games are too gimicky and bland to me,and I'm waiting for the next gameboy instead, might get the DS and Nintendogs when it's at it's cheapest.

lynyona, you can get it cheaper from Lik Sang-an established import specialist company for 22 (I used Xe to convert the cost to ),and postage and tax is free.

http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?category=...oducts_id=7336&

The Nintendo DS is region free, like the PSP so it will work with any game region, the one I've linked to is the US version as it's in the English language.
