lil_me Report post Posted October 29, 2005 (edited) Big well done to Matthew With the allergy, I dunno if this is worth mentioning, my friend was seriously allergic to cat hair, but desperately wanted one, she ended up getting one off a friend of mine with the agreement of if it didn't work out she went back, 2 weeks later reduced sneezing, coughing and puffy eyes, a month later she was cured. She spoke to a nurse about it later who said the same as I did, thats how they do most allergy therapy, but introducing what causes it. helenl53 Report post Posted October 30, 2005 Why have we not gone PC over boys delivering babies and called them Midhusbands? I was on the phone to Carole at puppy number 3 and I could hear the excitement in Matthews voice. I think Carole should let him have one of the puppies -if I knew how to do a poll I would. Now Carole, you got the three piece suite in by demolishing and rebuilding the house - I am sure you will find a way round this one He may de-sensitise over the next 8 weeks as he handles the cute little puppies. Aw mum - go on, go on, pleeeeeeese let him have a puppy Love Helen
lancelot Report post Posted October 30, 2005 Re Mid-husbands...errm, you really didn't want to know this, but midwife means 'someone who is with ('mit'/'mid') the wife'. So a mid-husband would probably be the bloke down the pub afterwards. I'll crawl back into my pedant-hole now, shall I? Well done Matthew anyway! helenl53 Report post Posted October 30, 2005 Well I'll be - I never knew that about the origins of Midwife! I now need to go and find myself a pub quiz whch has a question on the origin of the word midwife Probably bump into a few midhusbands there HelenL
