Kazzen161 Report post Posted December 13, 2005 Please can someone remind me what the difference is re: the timetable for the statmenting process - I remember someone saying it can take longer if the school applies, as opposed to the parent, but I can't remember why. Thanks Karen
Helen Report post Posted December 13, 2005 Is there an official time frame that an LEA has to adhere to if a school makes the request? I have read somewhere (sorry Kazzen I can't remember where) that it can take longer if the school initiates the process. A lady on the IPSEA helpline gave me the same information, but she didn't give me an explanation as to why. Try contacting IPSEA for some information. Kazzen161 Report post Posted December 13, 2005 Thanks Sally, I have the standard time limits, but the school has applied for a statement for a child and they are being quoted about 6 weeks longer. I'd like to know if this is justified before I query it. Karen
