Hi Brook,

ages ago, I was tidying up our sitting room. Matthew was sitting in it and I asked him - 'Do you like the sitting room tidy or in a mess?'

He replied that he liked it being in a mess (untidy).

I asked him why and he replied that it felt 'warm' when it was untidy/messy, therefore the room must feel cold to him when it is tidy and clean.

Lesson there for everyone (with ASD kids) who likes a tidy sitting room?

Or - anyone experience the other side of the coin where their kids feel warm with orderliness/tidyness?

Cheers

for myself - to become more deciscive, I think.

For ASD community - acceptance and understanding.

For the children I support - To be part of society, have the same opportunities as everyone else.

What 'our' kids want - cant really answer but I know that the children that I support appreciate people who are relaxed and playful with them - and accepting.
