auld lang syne

Recommended Posts

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,

And never brought to mind?

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,

And days of auld lang syne?

For auld lang syne, my dear,

for auld lang syne.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,

for auld lang syne

We twa hae run aboot the braes

And pu'd the gowans fine.

We've wandered mony a weary foot,

Sin' auld lang syne.

Sin' auld lang syne, my dear,

Sin' auld lang syne,

We've wandered mony a weary foot,

Sin' auld ang syne.

We twa hae sported i' the burn,

From morning sun till dine,

But seas between us braid hae roared

Sin' auld lang syne.

Sin' auld lang syne, my dear,

Sin' auld lang syne.

But seas between us braid hae roared

Sin' auld lang syne.

And ther's a hand, my trusty friend,

And gie's a hand o' thine;

We'll tak' a cup o' kindness yet,

For auld lang syne.

For auld lang syne, my dear,

For auld lang syne,

We'll tak' a cup o' kindness yet,

For auld lang syne.

Thats why I came on here, watching tele, sat in dark as I don't want knocks on the door from drunk neighbours who are wanting another free drink, not anti social just hate noisey drunks and the kids have gone to sleep for a change and they will wake them up.

London, Edinburgh and Newcastle look amazing

I was working but at midnight we all sang that song (well what we can remember of the words). Thanks for posting the words. I will print them off ready for next year!!

Thanks for the words! I'll keep them for next New Years' Eve. I used to sing it when I lived in Scotland but I don't know the words after the first 2 lines. Last night my son and I sang "The Way to Amarillo" instead as it's his favorite cheerful song. Then he gave me a hug and I nearly fell down on the floor  (not because I had a glass of Asti - he was just happy).

Then we did some games to wish good things for 2006 and predict our future.

Happy 2006 to everyone!

Gloria
