nellie Report post Posted January 12, 2006 I'm gobsmacked. I ordered the ACE handbook online at 1700 last night and it arrived by post this morning. pumpkinpie, The IPSEA Taking Action is great for identifying certain problems and telling you what action to take, it also gives information on case law and the Education Act. The ACE handbook is a must for any parent with a child with special educational needs. It covers; The Legal Framework The Role of the School Statutory Assessment Making a Statement Maintaining a Statement Appeals and Complaints Disability Rights A-Z of Educaton Issues. A bit like a jargon free Code of Practice.

Mother in Need Report post Posted January 13, 2006 Wow, mine came in this morinng as well! My son of 12 doesn't have a health care plan (he has diabetes) should he have one (page 118)????????? That would be interesting to know, as so far school have refused to take full responsibilty and as he has AS+ too, he his not capable of managing this himself.
