Brook Report post Posted February 16, 2006 (edited) Hi Hailey, I haven't heard about this over here, but then again I suspect that's just me. I also had never heard of the astronauts 'space dyslexia'. Interesting stuff though. Brook Edited February 16, 2006 by Brook
Zemanski Report post Posted February 16, 2006 In the UK this is called DDAT http://www.dorecentres.co.uk/default.aspx?...DAT:S:1&kw=ddat I am dubious about the science and the methodology but haven't researched it particularly well Zemanski
Steve_colour-se7en Report post Posted February 16, 2006 thank you hallyscomet, an interesting article and video, thank you also Zemanski I too I am a little dubious about the science and possibly methodology like yourself haven't researched it as such, which itself may make an interesting task for me to undertake. thank you. Steve.. I think the boy means well but he is distinctly inclined to be inattentive...... Strange girl Report post Posted February 16, 2006 I went to a briefing on DDAT (also Dore) at an education conference a couple years ago. It seemed interesting and logical, a bit brain gym sort of. Working on the cerebellum and balance thru specific excersize regime. I was put off by the cost of it TBH. Toyah swears by it, but I can't say either way as I haven't tried it myself. I'm a bit dubious of anything that calls itself a 'cure'..
Elanor Report post Posted February 17, 2006 Hmm - not sure about DDAT. A friend's child was treated at Dore, and whilst he had some benefits, it's not made a radical difference. If he had the same amount of attention and care from an EP, or other specialist, I wonder if he wouldn't have had the same amount of benefit - and of course, the whole thing cost his parents thousands (I'm not kidding). I've also been at the receiving end of the hard sell from DDAT - I don't like or trust anyone who uses these techniques. Of course when I asked for hard, scientific, peer-tested evidence of effectiveness, they couldn't provide it - and frankly, anyone can come up with anecdotal evidence (and boy, did they have a lot of that). Sorry to sound the skeptic again. Elanor
