    Update

Glad your mum is feeling better Chicken pox is most infectious just before the spots appear - J wiped out an entire group of Tumble Tots when he had it ! - only 3 there when we returned after a fortnight! - and then until the last spot is scabbed over. 14 day incubation usually What were they doing at the shops!!! They could infect anyone whose immunity is compromised!!!!
  12. J and I have both had it the last few days - very nasty ... HOW about ... I apologise that we were unable to attend the arranged meeting due to illness. (Otherwise they will make much of it if you back out of the meeting!) We are writing regarding the proposed statement that ********* Local Education Authority has issued for M's Special Educational Needs. In view of the time that has passed since the start of the Assessment process in September 2006 we request that you finalise the proposed statement as soon as possible, allowing us to approach the SEN Tribunal. This means that some of M's programme can be put in place to address his educational needs whilst the areas of disagreement between ourselves are clarified and discussed. There still remain areas where we feel clarification or more specification is needed. We are happy to have further meetings with yourselves, regarding these issues, but do not want this to be at the expense of finalising the statement, organising support for M, or our right of appeal to the SEN Tribunal. We also request that you inform us of our right to appeal at the SENDIST Tribunal. (You can leave this in if you want but they are obliged to do this by law when they send you the final statement - although we all know that LEAs are not always too clear about the legality of some things! )
  13. Are the county responsible for Education? That would be why the papers go to their panel...

  18. It should have been discussed with you and you are perfectly entitled to see it and have a copy if you wish. We assessed our son against the Early Learning Goals that children are supposed to have acheived at the end of the Foundation Stage and presented evidence to the Tribunal that he hadn't achieved many of them - this was in Year 3!!!! Handy link for the goals is http://www.underfives.co.uk/elg.html You can read the DFES doc re the Foundation Stage here http://www.qca.org.uk/downloads/5824_handbook_web.pdf You can find the curriculum guidance, including the goals, here: http://www.qca.org.uk/downloads/5585_cg_foundation_stage.pdf
  19. Tosh - sorry Mr Jones - I know you need a plaster cast but we can't give you one till April as we've run out of money - can you imagine the NHS saying this - OK well perhaps not the best example but you get my drift The assessment process should look at the child's needs - not at the resources available to meet those needs - one of the problems where the gatekeeper is also the provider - don't forget the Ed Psych works for the LEA as well
