It seems we have had simular weather down south! I was camping and we had the thunder and lightning and at the age of 16 I flipped and froze and screamed for dear life!!! Thankfully this occasion I was with Scouts and are all VERY supportive! Last weekend however I was camping in wales and we had the bad weather and the thunder and again I flipped! This time ALOT more embrassing! I know exactly how you son feels and I completly understand what happens and all!!

Mumble thank you sooo much that is a really HUGE help!!! I like the ideas and will share these with my lecture when I see him on monday. The reson I am behind on assignments are becasue of lack of organisation and because I am not getting the notes in lessons becasue of being distracted and a few of the lectures send me out for being distruptive (for makign noises! is disruptive!)

I have recently been told due to people leaving my course at college there are going to merge my group of 9 and the other of 15 into one group in Sept. I stuggle to cope with a group of 9 some days let alone more!! The alternative to leaving the course is to drop down a level instead of dipolma do certificate. This means less work which is good seeing as I have missed so many deadlines! The downside the group dont know me, one of my lectures is concerned that I wont be accepted and would like to talk to the group before Sept when I join them. I have been asked what I want them to know about AS. He said is there any facts ect or any info to make it interesting. Also, can people think some ways to describe as behaviuor rocking, noise making ect as I can start doing this without being aware which can be embrassing also how can you explain sensory overload to NT's?? I dont understand people very well I tend to insult people without intent or being aware of it I cant read facial expressions or tone of voice I dont get scarcasm I say things I shouldt I dont understand figures of speech I dont understand that "you" (other people) have feelings I come across as weird and strange as well as immature I can real of all the bus times and numbers for Portsmouth and Southampton, as well as know all the dates of changes in the Scouting movement I have an obbesion with counting The good things are: I see in pictures/3D I am very observent I can recall events very procisly even down to color and types of things Hope this helps Hev

My gran has consently compared me to all my other cousins who I rally see (there life in Scotland!) and she tells me what there have achieved and then says not that you will understand dear!! (thats one thing that always puzzeled me!! Dear isnt that an animal! Mum explained about 1 month ago! !) Some people just dont understand!

I AM SOOOO ANGRY!!! Involved in Scouts myslef for 4 years in that time I have changed such alot and I cant see why it should be a problem. Your Scouting distict should have a District Commisioner and a SN Commisioner for the disrict or county, get in contact with them. And please for your sons sake dont give up!! I logged on and was going to recommend AlphaSmart rather then Laptop. I used it from year 7-11 and also did my GCSES on it! The school hated the idea therefore meaning we well my parents had to buy it since then the school went a bought two! Not such a bad idea then was it! The fact that you cant see all the work can be a problem I will admit, although you can get abotu 5 I think when the font was the smallest you could get it. I used the Neo version.

I am dx dyslexic. School as usal said no problem "Lazy, slow, misbehaves, disruptive" thats the problem! Mum was not happy with this so went to a PATOSS meating locally where she saw our next door neighbour! Anyway she said she would test me as she tests at a local school with a dyslexia unit attached to school. She did and the dx severe specific learning difficulty (dyslexic) school still wouldn't except it! However college does!

Its only about 20 mins drive from Home so we go there quite a bit. A really good day out although during peak times it can be a huge overload trigger take my word for it!

I am absoulutly PERTIFIED to say the least I am going to Greece sailing on the 6th May for a week. Yes I am excited about that but its the bit at the begining and the end that I am worried completly about. I spoke to my LSA at college who is not going at college I avoid all the corriders as much as I can aviod the cafes, libary basically any where there are loads of people! She was not aware how much I hate people if you know what I mean noise, movement, smells! This airport is going to be HELL not a small little airport with very few people, Gatwick As some of you may already know I really cant talk to mum about this but I am feeling sick already with nearves I really want to talk to the trip leader who is a lil funny about AS and thinks that it should stand for attention seeker at college I can control my AS quite well I feel but while in the airport and while at the hotel I know I am going to struggle sooo much! Any ideas, I feel I should explin to my lecture in charge that this is what could happen (complete frezze, hands over ears, eyes shut and crying and complete unsureness!) but I dont know what to say any ideas?? In July this year I am representing the UK in the World Scout Jamboree in Essex with 41,000 other Scouts from around the world. When I put my name down as an applicant, went through 3 interviews with various people and a few assessed camps it seemed a great idea! Now when its 14 and a half weeks off I am getting very worried and have told one of my leaders 3 times I dont want to do it. She has a sister with AS Diongised and is great with me and very understanding and wants to do what she can to help. My mum on the other hand knows I have AS but doesnt want a digonsis as fear of people then labelling me! I think instead there just think I am wierd ! I am really worried about going there are 4 cermonys where all 41,000 attend the one area of the site during a 12 day period the amount of noise, movement, smells get the idea!. Which I really dreading another thing we dont get told whats going on until we get to the site in July so no advance warning !! After the 12 days we as a contingent of 40 are going to Poland cant wait for that as long as I can get through the airport! Um..... has anyone got any ideas as my contingent leader is desperate for me not to pull out and I really dont want to either I know I will regret it! Ideas on how to cope? She said about Ear Defenders seems sensible to me and would love it as then I enjoy it But, mum on the other hand doesnt want me to stand out! I dont want to have a complete meltdown, she thinks when I cant cope I am just a little baby and needs to learn not to have tantrums! ANY IDEAS!! I am 16 PLEASE! xxxxKatiexxx

Be careful. The old primary school I was at did not except there was a prob but they new there was. Due to this I moved schools but my records got 'Lost in the post" There was only a mile difference between schools! Basically, it meant that there was badly kept records or something simular!
