Yes, right there with you Stella...but so satisfying dont you think when you get hold of those little blighters and yank them out? Oh the fun we have getting older....sorry, this still doesnt mean you get Lee on all days, Mumble. Maybe Lee likes hairy chinned women? ddh

    ive lost my mobile

Hev! My hubby lost his mobile today! It reckons it slipped out of his pocket while he was going up hill and dale doing some filming... Perhaps we could have two minutes silence - one for your mobile and one for his! His mobile was from work... Ought to be interesting when he goes in on Monday and reports it missing..so what exactly does he say that doesn't make him sound like a complete twit? Um..sir, it fell out of my pocket? And where was that? Um..on a hill somewhere? ddh
  7. Should I keep you guessing? and she emits a devilish laugh d dh
  8. First off - completely unacceptable that a child that young is allowed to leave a class without the teacher aware, and even worse that the child is able to leave the school grounds. This happened once when my son was at primary - and you are right about your luck possibly running out - the child actually left the school and walked over a mile home on his own - at the age of six. Gulp, I know, and I do not wish to frighten you, but what else would a child do if it feels it wants to go home? Luckily, your daughter stayed on the grounds. What was that expression I read on the bullying thread? The staff at your child's school should be b***h-slapped! This forum has taught me to keep a paper trail and a diary - I suggest you do the same. Log all incidents and put them in writing in a letter to the governors if the school keeps changing staff. (I wonder why that is?) When school resumes again in the autumn, I would go to the new Head and make her/him aware of the incidents. There is honestly no excuse for a child being allowed to leave the classroom unchallenged, especially as they are aware of it happening before and should be keeping an eye out in case it happens again. I know what you mean about the school including the child but not the condition. They say they will help, things change for a bit, and then it's back to the same old same old. Grr argghh! ddh
  9. I am sorry to hear your news, Mumble. That must be so frustrating for you. And it seems as if you do need a new disability officer - the one you have isnt working on your behalf very much. Is it possible to go over the head of the officer? That person's superior? Is there not a line manager or something? I cannot offer much advice as I am new myself to finding (fighting for?) help for my son. But I can say dont give up - you have got yourself so far already - dont let one silly unhelpful person prevent you from achieving your goals. I wish you the best. Hang in there! ddh
  10. BD you are one seriously funny person.... ddh
  11. That is so funny...am still laughing at the wryness of it. My son used to take his collection of model cars into the bath with him and line them up around the entire edge of the tub...but my kids are too old for bath toys now I miss the one they had which you stuck up onto the tiles with those suction cuppie thingies and then poured water through the spinning wheel or cascading little containers. Also had those sponge-like shapes that stuck to the tiles when wet and you could make pictures! We had a whole slew of bath toys - took up half the bathroom - and bath time used to be so much fun! ddh
  12. Sorry Kathryn, Didn't see this post. I am still having trouble navigating around the forum. That's what I get for being such a newbie! I fail to see the new posts sometimes, and how to get onto topics. I keep getting lost. ddh
  13. I adore worms too! I am forever removing them from harm's way after it rains! (My kids think I'm mad!) We have one very fat cat, which M adores, although the cat is not the most affectionate creature in the world. (Perhaps that's why?) We had to have our dog put to sleep last Christmas and I still miss her very much. We had her fifteen years.... As for other pets, well, if you count the magpies, squirrels, greenfinches, blackbirds (one male, one female), robin,(with mate in spring) little blue birds (cannot use their real name - gets bleeped out!), house sparrows, worms and other crawlies in our compost bin, and the occasional green woodpecker - then we have a fair few pets. But no bunnies! My eldest daughter and her beau just got a lab puppy - and my, is he cute and cuddly. Such expressive eyes, especially when he is being naughty! ddh
  14. How many of you will be standing (in the rain?) tonight to pick up the latest and final edition of the boy wizard series? We will be, well, I lie, my husband will be taking our son to get the must-have book at Borders. And a goody bag to boot! And has anyone else noticed this? My hubby thinks that JK must have had plastic surgery done to her face. What say you? Or has she access to magical powers after all? Or has she found the philosopher's stone, which, btw, we all know, stops the aging process and allows us to become immortal... ddh

    Beauty Salons

You get Lee in loincloth? And here I thought he was mine.... As far as beauty salons go, I avoid them like the plague. But hair removal is becoming a prime option for me now that menopause has me firmly in its grip.... I do not know how painful it is, but my friend's sister went in to have the hair permanently removed from her face (she had hairy sideburns, bless) and proceeded to have the hair on her legs, pits (and other places too!) also permanently removed. So, my guess is that it could not have been that painful. It did take over a year for the whole process to be complete, and it was not cheap either. But she is very happy with the results! ddh
  16. You have been given good advice so far here, Mumble, so I will only wade in with shared dislike and fear of dentists. My husband has to come with me and hold my hand I am so terrified. One of my only fears, but boy oh boy is it a big one for me. If it helps, I tell myself over and over while I am sitting in the dentist's chair that it won't last forever, it will have an end, and then think how happy I will be when it is over. And I am when it is! Downright jolly! Fingers crossed it all goes well for you, sugar. ddh
  17. So sorry to hear about your brother, Viper. And I hope there is CCTV footage as Frangipani suggested. People like that need to be brought to account for what they have done. (Then throw away the key...) Wishing you and him all the best. ddh
  18. I voted! How could I resist such a cute pirate? ddh
  19. I had a look at the Enigma and it made my head feel dizzy. The spiral lines spin! And within the purple spiral lines I saw shapes forming, like spectral figures. I still feel ill from looking at it. Glad to hear your son is feeling better, Bard, and that the Enigma is well muzzled! (It should be!) ddh
  20. Did it too. Good fun, and I suspected the outcome... ddh

    my positive thread

Saturday nights just have not been the same since that show ended. I mean how is a gal not to miss a Saturday night spent in with gorgeous men dancing and singing and smiling and laughing (or crying?) I will be going up to London too, and woe betide (Is that a word? Words? - felt like one, some.) if Lee is not performing for the performance I buy tickets for...if you hear of a woman storming the stage, that'll be moi... Keep on dreaming of Lee, Mumble...and K - so good of you to make an effort for the kids ddh
