    Anyone

Hi folks, Woke up on a high this morning - managed to stay that way for a while. Then got a message on the answer machine from County Autism team saying the meeting has been set for 22nd November with all the agencies - and at the end she added "this will be a meeting to set the scene, not a decision making meeting." ERM...sorry...but the scene is already set - I don't need to have a meeting about having another meeting. Thanks for listening. Clarkie

  6. Hi We had same problem - had to be doing the same as all the other kids. We ended up getting a free contract phone, we pay 3.99 per month, (pay 30 taken as direct debit but you claim it back with redemption certificates - you must remember to send them in though within a specified time period). For this he get's 500 minutes and 100 texts - anything over and above he has to pay for. He's gone over most months but only by a couple of pounds and it's always for texts - but if you shop around and can afford to do the payments up front and then claim back - it's worth it. Good Luck Clarkie
  7. Hi guys, You may be aware from previous posts that we had a Special School dilemma. Well, it's no longer a dilemma in the respect that we have made the decision to go for a special school. yway, just needed to tell someone. Hubby's up in London tonight and can't get hold of him so... you guys are the next best thing. Clarkie
  8. I blubbed. The last scene where the kid was saying "You raised your voice" - could have been our house. The scene with the parents bickering - is our house. Clarkie PS: Jack's cute...but I like the younger one better!
  9. Good luck for tomorrow. It is always good to have someone with you at these appointments, just to ensure you both hear the same thing. Hope it goes well. Clarkie

    Special School

Thanks Nellie the LEA are only giving a 0.6 statement - so should we pushing for more than that? I know we're lucky to even be getting the statement - but if they are only recommeding 0.6 (630 hours) why would they ever agree to a special school? Will definitely contact IPSEA. Thanks for the advice. Clarkie
  12. Hey Carole If I could, I would. If you think that I can help by talking to Sarah Spiller - then let me know. This will directly affect our current situation so do let me know if I can do anything. Clarkie

    Special School

We should receive the draft statement this week and I dunno whether to put on it the mainstream school he attends now or be putting down a special school. We are going to try and get an appointment sorted out for a special school this week, just to see what the place is like and judge whether it would be right At a loss. Clarkie
  14. I would say "welcome" too. You have found people here who will listen to you. When you feel you can trust us not to judge you in any way, then feel free to join in. Someone's always around. Clarkie

    what to do

Hi Nellie We are very lucky to have a fantastic nurse in our lives. We all believed that our child going back into mainstream would be the best for him at the time as he was very attached to his friends and is "academically" good at school and great at sport. However this was not the case. Thanks for the help people. I wouldn't have got through this without the support I'm getting here. Cheers for that. Clarkie

Thanks Kathryn, The support and information I got from you guys last June was the kick in the right direction and what I needed - I put forward 14 A4 pages of typed "Parental Representations" to the LEA (told you I bored the pants off them) and got a huge amount of information off this forum. So it's a well done to all of you who have posted in the past. By the way - it's 20 to 1 - what are we doing up at this time of the night...morning? I suppose it's the most peaceful time of the day in our house. Cheers Clarkie
