oxgirl Report post Posted October 2, 2007 My lad is nearly 14 and has never enjoyed me cuddling him. He will tolerate me standing close behind him and putting my arm around him and pulling him back into me and I'll stroke his hair for a min, but that's it then, he's had enough. Well the other night he was very upset about his cast, he was crying and trying to pull it off and generally getting wiggy. I managed to sort him out and bath him and get him ready for bed and I was sitting on the bed and he usually lets me give him a quick hug before he gets in bed. Well, this night he leaned against me and I hugged him and it just went on and on and on!!! I was stroking and patting his back and he even turned his head and rested it on my shoulded and just let me hug and hug him. My arms were getting really tired but I just continued until he eventually had had enough. It must have been the longest hug he's ever allowed me to give him and it was lovely. ~ Mel ~

oxgirl Report post Posted October 2, 2007 It is, isn't it. He's just never let me comfort him before, not really. When he hurt himself he used to run away or run around in panic and you couldn't get near him to make him better. It just made me feel so nice that I could be there to comfort him and that he could accept it. ~ Mel ~
ellisisamazing Report post Posted October 2, 2007 Awww Mel, That's gawjuss! <'> A real cockle warmer! El is a real cuddler and a face stroker and it's so nice, it always reminds me he does love me, he may not be able to say it, but he can show it with his cuddles! You're very, very lucky.....a teenage boy cuddling his Mum? That's almost unheard of....enjoy, enjoy, enjoy! Lisa xx

krystaltps Report post Posted October 2, 2007 Awww, warm feeling all round. That's so nice. It must have felt lovely. I have the teletubbies and my twins to thank for hugs in our house. C was never a hugger or "contact person" as a toddler, and then along came my huggly-cuddly twinkles and their toddler teletubbies obsession. The introduced "Big Hug" and it looked so much fun that C just had to join in, bless him. Nowadays, he's the most huggly of all three, but he does specialise in the violent hug. It brings new meaning to the saying "Love hurts". <'> <'> <'> <'> <'> <'> <'> <'>

oxgirl Report post Posted October 3, 2007 Aw, they can be cute when they want to, can't they. Of course, he didn't hug me back, that would be asking too much. Nope, he just let his arms dangle at his side like normal, but at least he let me administer the much needed hug and didn't ask me 'when will this end', which is what he usually does. Ah, Teletubbies, takes me back that does. Not half as good as Tweenies though. I really miss all those littlies programmes. ~ Mel ~
Flora Report post Posted October 3, 2007 mel how lovely. When bill's in a good mood I can still get him to hug me... I have to tell him though! otherwise it's just the dangly arms... he usually does it when I've bought him something or have promised to buy him something... cupboard love!
