Flora Report post Posted October 17, 2007 My appeal to SENDIST has been scheduled for some time at the end of February. Seems like along time. I have emailed them asking for an earlier hearing but I don't hold out much hope. this means that by the time we get a result Bill will have been out of school for a year. Flippin' madness. Flora X Oh dear. I'm just about to register our appeal (supposed to be working on it right now!) and the independent specialist school we want has a place available for DS2 from Jan... but no guarantees it'll still be there by the time our tribunal is held. Hope you get the earlier hearing you want, Flora. As if things weren't difficult enough... Lizzie xxx

Kathryn Report post Posted October 17, 2007 Hi Flora and Lizzie, I've heard today that there's been some computer foul up at Sendist apparently, which has led to a load of existing cases having to be rearranged and a resulting backlog for new cases. Flora Report post Posted October 19, 2007 Hi hun <'> , wish this whole flippin nightmare could be over soon, what provision is in place till Feb???........... Hi suze, bill's still signed off sick so he's receiving an hour a day home tuition. although the home tutor told me this week she isn't coming back after half term. The reason she gave me is that she is doing more and more supply teaching, but to be honest I think she'd just had enough. I think she felt a bit out of her depth and never managed to get any momentum going. He's also having a learning mentor from the autism outreach service coming once a week for a couple of hours doing cooking and playing video games with him. Kathryn, where did you hear about the computer glitch and backlog with SENDIST? I've spoke to them about bringing it forward but you need the LEA's agreement and I somehow can't imagine they'll go for that! They are sending me a form out for requesting an expeditious hearing so I'll give it a go but I'm not holding out much hope. flora X
