NickyB Report post Posted April 25, 2009 Last night DS took himself off upstairs and I followed him - he was crying and was genuinely upset about something. Me and DH both tried to get him to tell us what the matter was, but he just wouldn't let on. He was so upset that he ended up sleeping in bed with me, and woke a couple of times in the night and started crying again. We assumed he was in pain or ill, but couldn't explain what the problem was. Then this morning, he came up to me and said 'Last night, I was playing on the DS and I deleted your user name - I'm really sorry about that' and started crying again. I was so shocked, that I didn't know quite where to put myself After I came out of shock, I explained that it didn't matter about the DS game, and told him how proud I was that he'd told me and apologised. He has never shown much understanding of other people's feelings, and certainly never owned up to anything before. As for apologising, well that's only slightly short of a miracle It makes all the months and years of trying to teach appropriate behaviour worth while. I know it's only a little thing, but for him it was a HUGE step forward - something I know you'll understand As you may know, we have have quite a rough week, and we've gone from the depths of despair to a huge high within a few days - they don't 'alf put us through it, don't they Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
