apparently he has been taken off the ventilator & is now breathing by himself but still in the ICU.

 

He is going to be paralysed from the chest down for sure & theyre still working on his arms

OMG Poor man! My cousin was paralysed from the waist down after a car accident when he was just 17 but he's amazing and holds world ranks in the paralympics for tennis, he's played at Wimbledon too. He owns his own adpated house and car and lives a full and happy life.

 

So try not to despair there is life after paralysis.

there isnt any news yet....still in intensive care at the moment as far as i'm aware.

 

i'll be sure to let you know as soon as i hear anything *sigh*

well i just had news that Kelvin has been moved to another hospital.

 

He is to have an operation to try & fix his back so that he can at least sit in a wheelchair! They also need to fix one of his arms as it is smashed pretty bad apparently. He still has assistance breathing & is still in Intensive care but wakes up from time to time, although not for long as he is drugged to the eyeballs!!

 

Fingers crossed for his op tonight

Sounds like he has broken ribs, even if its only one its unbearable to try & breathe and they often keep them drugged up as its hard to breathe on their own if the ribs are broken, thats what they are doing with little Sophie as she has 5 broken ribs.

 

It sounds like your friend was hit from the side.
