LKS Report post Posted May 29, 2006 We decided to treat ourselves to a new lawnmower. Other one was a flymo with a broken handle, that you had to get into a strange position to use We brought a basic petrol one and dh(who doesn't read instructions cos too much text overwhelms him) and Nt son set about putting it together. Apart from the fact that the instructions seemed to have nothing in common with the mower we brought everything was going quite well. Sent Nt son off to get some unleaded petrol, leaving dh to deal with the oil. Unfortunately dh didn't look at what it said on the caps and poured the oil into the petrol tank He then tried to turn it upside down and empty it out on the patio bit which is the only decent part of the garden. He managed to drag it to the grass and finished emptying it out right where people walk so making a lovely slippery surface for everyone to fall over on. Nt son returns and is peed off with dad. We all try to soak up remaining oil that won't pour out. After 40 mins we are getting really tired of this. Dh finds one of those medicine dispensers (the ones that you can draw liquid up with) so continues to syphon remaining oil out of petrol tank. Good idea, no it slips out of his oily hands and becomes wedged in the petrol tank. Another half hour spent trying to get the ###### out. In the end we just left it and filled it with petrol Dysfunctional doesn't describe us yesterday
