zaman Report post Posted February 10, 2007 Pinball Wizard by the Who - Devon Mum did you think of that because you read on the paper today that they are going on tour? Here's my lyrics: Well we know where we're going But we don't know where we've been And we know what we're knowing But we can't say what we've seen And we're not little children And we know what we want And the future is certain Give us time to work it out
Devon mum Report post Posted February 10, 2007 Pinball Wizard by the Who - Devon Mum did you think of that because you read on the paper today that they are going on tour? No Zaman, don't read papers much, I just like the song. I did wonder if I would get The Who or the more recent group that did it! Anyhoo! Hubby says Talking heads ... Road to No where. He did a google on it, cos I had to go put clean sheets on yet another wet bed! And there was me thinking Peter Gabriel!!

zaman Report post Posted February 11, 2007 No Zaman, don't read papers much, I just like the song. I did wonder if I would get The Who or the more recent group that did it! I got 10 mins to look at the Saturday paper, and not only saw the Who are going on tour this year, but that someone's wife had chosen Road to Nowhere as the CD for him to listen to while having his vasectomy! Haven't got a clue who your song is this time though . . .

David Matthew Baker Report post Posted March 5, 2007 (edited) The answers on this webpage. Not going to post it here as would be interest to see whether anyone gets the answer without looking. http://www.bbc.co.uk/ouch/yourspace/placebo.shtml Check about half way down, in the first group of bold lyrics. It is the third line that BD quotes first. Here is the rest of the lyrics the BBC gives incase you want a clue: "I dribble when I nibble And I quibble when I scribble Hello to you out there in Normal Land You may not comprehend my tale or understand As I crawl past your window give me lucky looks You can be my body but you'll never read my books." Drag your mouse from here upwards, whilst holding down the left button, to read it. Decided that way don't give clues to anyone who doesn't want one. You can find all the lyrics on a link on the BBC site. But the link gives its name away and so does the title of the link on the BBC page. David Matthew Baker Report post Posted March 5, 2007 I won't even ask how you know these songs. Makes me feel better about been able to quote Lindisfarne lyrics. David Matthew Baker Report post Posted March 6, 2007 I expect you would understand. When writing a reply you will notice that there is an A symbol with a solid black line under it. This allows you to change text colour. If you drag your mouse over (whilst holding down the left button) the text you want to change the colour of it will highlight it. Then you can click on that button and choose a colour. I just went with white as I decided that was a close enough match to the background colour on the forum. See simple when you know how. David Matthew Baker Report post Posted March 8, 2007 Never heard of them but as it was the artists names your right you do find them rather easily. Can't find any lyrics though. Damn might have to listen to all the tracks on myspace! Fujiya & Miyagi http://www.myspace.com/fujiyaandmiyagi Well doesn't seem to be photocopier unless I'm not listening carefully enough! Well that was lucky was on the second track I listened to. Almost missed it though as the music is much louder than the words. So the track is Ankle Injuries by Fujiya & Miyagi. I thought I was going to have to listen to Collarbone and Transparent Things as well before finding out it was none of them! Guess I could have a go. I'll see what I can find the lyrics to in my CD collection downstairs.
David Matthew Baker Report post Posted March 8, 2007 Okay found one: "Well Liza said come on now boy, won't you marry me I'll make you such a fine wife and raise your family now take your ease my boy, I'll put whiskey in ya' jar I'll just go down and get a gill from Harry Quinty's Bar now with Liza gone I caught such a look from Martha's eye she sat herself down next to me it was a great suprise the way she turned and smiled with her hand upon my knee oh dear mother of God now who's it gonna be Liza with her hair so black and Matha's flaming red how their hearts are with me still......" Good luck.
David Matthew Baker Report post Posted March 11, 2007 As I think this was probably a bit too hard I'll give you a clue. I've mentioned the group who sing this in another one of my posts on here. Including a link to their website. I think that narrows it down to two groups for you from memory. The name of the song would be the next few words. Didn't find any lyrics when I looked though. There is an audio clip though that matches some of the lyrics I posted.

David Matthew Baker Report post Posted March 12, 2007 (edited) Yes it's one of theirs. Do you know which one though? It is one of these: http://www.thehappycats.com/musicdownloads.htm Hint try the bottom half of the album list. Rather than the other random songs at the bottom. EDIT: Incase anyone is interested it is 'The girls upon the hill.' If I ever have another go I promise to be kinder.
