  1. poor you! gargling salt water (boiled) or TCP is supposed to help. (YUK) as it gets rid of the germs gargling soluable asprin is also meant to help

  3. Last night when i was online as usual me pc went a bit funny. images on the screen look very pixelated. and the colours are not right. e.g the 'start' button is grey with touches of green. Do i need a new screen or is something else the problem here??

  6. usually the way of dealing with it is rather than saying no don't do it because its 'dirty' explain that its not appropriate to do it in school or infront of others, same as u learn its not appropriate to show off your 'private' parts to anyone either. its just another one of these rules that everyone has to learn you don't show or touch these parts of your body infront of others or in school. its a difficult thing for an 8yr old to understand and learn, so a social story may help. in school it should be dealt with discreetly with distraction, and a reminder of the rules about not touching. If she is going to do it anyway and u are unable to stop her, (obv because she likes to do it) then maybe allowing her to do it in the bath or when she is in her own room. Then you could discuss this with her that she cannot do it in school, but can do it at home only in places you have said are ok do do it in. sorry thats all i can think of at the moment. i'm not very good at explaining things !
  7. this is when i am lucky to have such a limited diet! I have always just cooked for myself due to being too fussy to eat the same as anyone else!
  8. well you could make yourself up a calendar with what u need to do each day, and u cld even give it to someone on here who i am sure would be happy to prompt you!
  9. understanding is important, but people do not need to have a relative with ASD to have the ability to understand it. I agree that many people do not understand it, but their are also people who can and do understand.
  10. so are you saying that a TA who has not had a close relative on the spectrum will be unable to understand? Thus support will not be successful in such cases?
  11. things that can be put in the oven would be good they normally have instructions on the back telling you what temperature to set your oven to, and how long to put it in for.
  12. never bought any, but ut depends on where you want to put it, how much space you have etc.
  13. What kind of life skills do you mean? Your wife can make sure direct debit is set up for bills while she is gone, and make sure that their will be enough money in the bank to cover these bills. Also could set up an amout of money for you to spend each week on food etc.
  14. i dunno what kind of bird it is, just did a google search for a bird flying to go with the lyrics from the song i put in my signature! before that i had a rather cute girlie atvar, not that i am very girlie either. So decided to swap it for something else and the bird was an easy option. Oh and SD is a bit of a cr@p username but it was the only one i could think of at the time when i registerd. edited to say its a great fairgate bird
  15. is it possible the primary school did not admit to you that he was displaying these behaviours? Also did he have a 1:1 at primary but doesn't have 1:1 in the special school due to smaller class sizes and all the kids having additional needs?
