  1. An IQ test only shows one thing - how well you did on that IQ test. If you practice taking IQ tests every day for a month you will be great at doing them.

any advice you want, just ask me... and then it would probably best if you did the opposite. But seriously, I had a hell of a time. I'll be happy to give any advice I can.

    The IT Crowd

on the DVDs, Graham Linehan says that he thinks of it as the 'it'-crowd, but can see now that people might think of it as the 'eye-tee' crowd. If this isn't a terrible stereotype, which other aspies have noticed things in the background? Minutiae like a tekkonkinkreet poster..? Chris Ware?

I'm writing a doctoral thesis on psycholinguistics. I did a Bsc and Msc in psychology. But I also can't ask for a coffee in a cafe without wretching and staggering out like a monster from a horror movie... and it looks so easy when other people do it.

    Whii!!!!!!!!

it's like crystal meth; it feels great to do it at first but the aches and pains to come... I thought I'd learnt my lesson but a game of wii tennis with a brother in law left me in agony... Don't do it kids! It's not worth it!

hi everyone, I'm marco. I'm dx AS, had lots of horrible experiences but am fairly happy now... panic attacks excluded. I'd really like to hear from aspies at uni who might be in the same type of situation that I am - at the mo I've had to take time off due to meds side effects etc... I hope everyone had an xmas as stress free as possible. m.
  8. What I meant by myearlier post is that I don't feel that long term ADS have helped me. If one suffers from anxiety attacks I have found that diazepam type pills can staop them in their tracks. I'm very sceptical about all of the long-term meds I've been prescribed.
  9. I guess we all should remember that journalists for newspapers etc are under huge pressure to add whatever detail they can into fairly thin police statements. I remember a few years ago in Wales a murderer was caught and on the news they sensationally announced that amongst the items found by the police was a pair of leather trousers! They had nothing to do with the murders, but he must have been a weirdo, eh?
  10. yes, lots of familiar symptoms, you definitely have OCD and possibly AS. Asking your doc about these things can feel really awkward but you have to... if you don't like talking to your GP see if you can see someone else. Ask for a referral to see a psychiatrist. Sounds scary, I know, but it might just make everythin g better for you...
  11. Hi It's not a disease!! AS is generally associated with acute anxiety and depression, but apart from that it just makes you really special and unique.
