  1. He is here for a food and wine festival. But, who knows, he may do a few restaurants over here. Here is the news clip, where he drops the jar http://search.ninemsn.com.au/results.aspx?...Gordon%20Ramsay xx
  2. I know all the overtime you do, you deserve these holidays. I taught Year 4 & Year 5's for 3 years for Scripture, they were only 30 minute lessons. My biggest class was 36 kids. I absolutely loved doing this, but I truly could imagine the stress doing it full time. I think I chose the wrong career. Fran x <'>
  3. This always gets on my goat, as you see it everyday. The cards are a good option, just pull it out of your wallet, and hand it to them an smile and say, 'have a nice day' with a big smile, and go about your business as if they are a face in the crowd. I am more concerned with how these people make our kids feel. So my biggest concern is how my child feels about this incident and being there for them. So if I didnt have a card I am inclined to give the person the evil eye and say nothing at all. But just attend to your child. Nosey so and so. It is an insult to your intelligence and your parenting skills, so dont be apologetic to them, unless your child has physically hurt someone. imo. Rant over Here have some of these, <'> <'> I think you handled it better than I would have. Fran x
  4. Hi Mandy, As well as what has been already said, you might find this link worth reading. Truly you need a referral to a Paediatrician that specialises in this area to be totally sure what is wrong. Just because I am posting this does not mean I'm saying this is what your child has. You really need a specialist to assist you with this. Here is the link (removed in line with forum rules & guidelines) All the best <'> <'> <'> Fran x Hi Mandy/Fran. The link was removed in line with forum guidelines. It referenced a book called 'Parenting The ADD Child' by David Pentecost, which you could find with a quick search or by PMing Fran for the direct link. BD
  5. Is it possible your local Council can put you in touch with a local support group. Hopefully the referral they give you, the person who runs the support group in your area will be able to give you some advice on what other support is available. Fran x
  6. Hi, My son says thanks for all the messages He had a lovely 21st.
  7. Good luck with this Karen. It always annoys me how difficult they can make things. There is enough stress in the family and getting the right help sometimes you feel totally alone. You really are on your own and just have to keep banging on doors and complaining. I would be inclined to let him stay home the last four weeks. No loss really. When things like this go pearshaped, have you considered talking to your local MP and disability discrimmination, as they often have a bit of muscle when 'the authorities' become disfunctional. Hope this stress is over soon and some good comes out of this awful situation. Fran x <'>
  8. Your councils definitely need to take some tips from Australia. We dont have to take anything to the tip. The council takes everything. Better things to worry about than rubbish.. eh!!
  9. Oh it was quite a funny event. He was swamped with photographers and during his interview he was presented with a giant glass jar at lease 6 litres big, by a lady that suggested every time he swore, he had to put money in the jar by the size of the jar she was expecting him to be popping a coin in there every second, as he does swear soooo much. Funny enough, he wasnt fussed and posed for the camera with his coin jar, but it slipped out of his hands and smashed at his feet. , the look on his face was priceless, like oh ohh..... they lady watching on said, well done. I figure, if you dont like him, dont watch him. I find him so infuriating sometimes, and his swearing gets to me, but I watched a couple of shows and at the end of the day I find him quite hilarious, and find him quite funny, must be my warped sense of humour. I actually look forward to his shows, because I am not sure who I am laughing at in the end, but often disbelief in what he dishes out. What do you think of him? Fran

Will give an update soon. 10 years older than O Kathryn the funny thing is, O was a summer baby and B was a winter baby oh thats so funny. Different sides of the globe. Oh where did the years go, it just seems like yesterday, I still remember those big blue eyes peering at me as a new born. He was soooo cute, still is of course. He's a lovely young man, I am so proud of him. Has a good heart, a wonderful big brother to his sister J. Off to the city to get some major computer enhancements he loves building computers he's on a roll. Doing a trip by himself with his ipod he loves the city. He rings me when he gets there for directions, because he loves to chat to mum all the way. he feels better chatting to me as he walks. We are having a special dinner at home, thats his wish. Lots to do. Thanks for your replies, he hasnt looked on here yet, when he gets back from the city. Love Fran xx <'> <'>
  13. What, you dont like the music, the music is catchy it grows on you, if you listen to it enough. Like a trance It goes well with the artworks
  14. Hi, I was just browsing and found this beautiful youtube thread. Just wanted to share it, I love her artwork. Lots of techniques I have learned too, she is very good Enjoy. youtube has a lot of good links on Autism, many things I remember from support groups I attended. Unfortunately a lot of trash too, 'cure's', but it seems you can search most of the Authors and Accredited speakers on Autism and its just like being there face to face in a meeting. I just want to keep learning more. Here is one in particular that I can totally relate to with my son from many conversations we have had Just wondering what your thoughts are on this last one, if that is okay. Love Fran x

  17. Hi, Looks like lots of people away with the weekend, being Fathers Day. I just found this link, I think contains a lot of useful information. http://www.asd-forum.org.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=3881 Also, if you look in the this section of the forum "Diet and Vitamins' I know Baddads posts if you look at his posts, he is an expert on the GF/CF diet. Also Call me Jaded has a lot of good information if you look for her name in those threads too. Good luck, Hope this helps for the moment. Fran
  18. Hi, I imagine the quickest way to get the right help would be to get a referral to a Paediatrician that specialises in AS and ADHD, it sounds like ADHD to me, but there are many things to take into consideration before they can start making any assumptions. It could also be food allergies. So many things need to be ruled out and the Paediatrician is truly the one that could observe him and get things moving asap. We have had the same Paediatrician for 18 years he is worth his weight in gold. He waves a magic wand for us and moved many many mountains, educational, specialists, you name it. They have an ability to speed up paperwork. I suggest you get your cousin to try and do a milestone diary, and note down any quirky behaviours or things he may have done to put himself at risk or harm. His ability to follow instructions, moods, just things that really stand out. Don't sweat on it too much, a good Paediatrician will ask you many questions anyway and get this information out of you till he/she gets to the root of the problems and as well as that they will refer you to the necessary people for assessments. Even get letters from the teachers from the year or previous years or take any school reports. Preschool, anything here, any early invention she may have followed up in the past. The most important thing is trying to figure out when she noticed some of the problem behaviours too. Often when you have a girl first then a boy you naturally thing, oh this is how boys are, but when you see them interacting then you start to realise oh maybe not all boys are this busy. Hope some of this helps.

    Father's Day

Happy Fathers Day to all the Dad's on here. :groupwave: :band:  x
  20. Thank you Theresa, <'> Its lovely to see you back here again. I started some anxiety meds over a week ago, they are slowly doing the job, they need to up the dose, I get really stressed when we have to go for the annual tests which are due. So hopefully these will be working well before we get started. I have a feeling she is going to get a wrap over the knuckles because she has been very difficult in terms of following the program set out for her. But, if she does, it will be a wake up call. The biggest issue is getting her bone density up, its in the lowest 15%. I think the thing that gutted me, was when I over heard her saying to a friend that she has the bones of an 80 year old. She obviously read this on the internet. Unfortunately, you can find out things that really are too much. So as you can see, no wonder I need anxiety meds. She is only 18 and still has the body of an 11 year old. Although she has had some growth in height, she has caught up to me which has been her goal, for the past four or five years. Just the other day we worked out she is one centimetre taller. so shes creeping up to 5'8" so there is growth in a sense. Fran x
