  1. Thanks she is just on calpol lizzie as she cant have brufen due to her asthma, she seems to be coping ok with it,she is sore and miserable when it wears off her but she has been eating small amounts and drinking regularly, she is quite impressed with her new voice and keeps looking in the mirror and saying their all gone!! The surgeon said they were huge,as were her adenoids so hopefully the sleep apnoea will disappear and we will maybe have sleep at long last!!(til november anyway!!)
  2. Just to let you know India had her surgery yesterday and we are home now,she is sore and miserable and doesnt sound the same!!but all went well and hopefully she will continue to improve x

  7. paula <'> My 11 year old NT daughter is on a residential at the mo too, still worry about her regardless. My sister is frightened by my nephews strength too, when he has a meltdown he doesnt care who he hurts either, the older he is getting the more he is having to try and control it,he knows he will end up going to prison as an adult if he hurts someone, and that scares him,he hates doing what he does,we know he cant help it,but thats not going to stand up in a court of law is it,it is very worrying.
  8. Im not sure to be honest flutter, she is really poorly at the moment and is crying with the pain in her tummy so i think she feels all pain, either normally or hypersensitively,im on the verge of taking her to casualty as she has seemed in such pain this morning, thing is i dont know wether she really is or is it just something minor that she feels more??we have a docs appointment this evening so hopefully they will know.
  9. Hi linda, sorry to hear your son has hurt himself <'> we have the opposite problem in that India is hypersensitive to pain, and will act like she has a broken leg if she has merely scraped her knee.

minerva sorry to hear about your dog, this may help you,my mum and dad are going through a similar situation, there is a charity called The centenary trust, your vet needs to get in touch with them and they will fax them an application form and your vet can apply for funding on your behalf, they mainly pay out for animals injured on the road. Info from the dogs trust website says.... Can Dogs Trust offer any help to cover the costs of my dog?s operation? He is not covered by insurance and I?m having trouble affording the vet?s fees. Unfortunately Dogs Trust is not often able to help with the financial cost of veterinary care (other than neutering for those receiving means-tested benefits), as we do not have our own clinics. However, we have a Centenary Trust Fund, which can sometimes help with some of the cost of emergency veterinary treatment. Please call the Centenary Trust Fund line on 020 7833 7625 where you will be asked to leave a message including your vet?s details. We would also advise you to try one or all of the following organisations that are more veterinary based and may be able to help: Blue Cross - 01993 822651, PDSA - 0800 7312502, RSPCA - 0870 0101181 You should also try talking to your vet, as they may agree to let you pay the bill by more manageable instalments. Hope that helps.

  15. Aw kathryn that is so brilliant, you must be over the moon!!excuse me for being dumb but what is HALO?
  16. Lisa your son sounds like a carbon copy of my nephew,he is 14 now,my daughter is only 3 and we find her difficult and i know it is going to escalate too,the main thing to remember is you are not alone,we all understand the way you are feeling,it is a very lonely place to be at times,if you want to talk on msn anytime just add me x
  17. That must be your health authoritys policy?India isnt 4 til august and my friends 2 year old has just had his tonsils removed,if they have apnoea it is the first line of treatment they use is to remove them,India has never had tonsillitis ever but her tonsils are so large they restrict her breathing terribly and make her choke on food, her health is not good and its thought to be down to the tonsils, hopefully her immune system will kick in a bit once she has them out, also the y have huge red veins running down them, they are not nice at all,she speaks very nasally too due to the enlarged adenoids, thankyou for your kind thoughts,i will let you know how she gets on x
  18. I dont actually mind the imaginary friends!!i had 2 when i was little as well, but i do get the feeling that she is making them up to compensate for the lack of real friends, she doesnt really understand how an imaginary friend works either as she points to random people and says "thats chelsea" or "thats amy" ,she has even gone up to a girl and called her chelsea before She also calls people her best friend when they have maybe only smiled at her before, never spoke to her,she has a friend at school called Jane but all they seem to play is chasing each other, which seems to be the only thing india "knows" how to play,we had a little girl move in next door and she is now indys friend as well, india thought she wouldnt be able to be friends with jane now she was friends with jade, this friendship is becoming very strained as they just fight non stop,It has to be indias way or the highway but the little girl is very strong willed and refuses, more often than not though Indy drops her like a hot brick and isolates herself while the girl begs her to be friends and play with her,i do fear this is going to be the continium into school
  19. Do your kids want to be friends with people or do they have no interest in other children?India really wants to be friends with other little girls but then she is unable to maintain what is expected from 2 way play, she does not get imagination but does try,but it always leads to tears and tantrums, and more often than not she just goes off on her own,i have also heard her wind other kids up and just not been bothered in the slightest that she is upsetting them, she has developed 2 imaginary friends, who she talks about so realistically its hard to believe they are not real people,i am concerened whats going to happen in september when she starts full time primary and has to cope with playtimes and being there all day,she is being assessed at nursery by the autistic teaching services at the moment but i think what they see of her in nursery to what she will be like in school is very different.
