  1. Go on instinct i say - all our children are different - what might suit one won't suit another. For my son Kane it had to be special - although when i first was looking at nursery places i wanted a Resource Nursery. I looked at 4 diff places and knew instantly where kane would be happiest - the best decision ever - it is a lovely, family environment with specialist teachers and support staff - everyone is committed to the children- right down to the caretaker. Kane is coming on, coping well and all the staff know him.
  2. To my knowledge - the only place you can buy melatonin is America? Every time i need a repeat for kane i have to ring up and say it's a "green file" prescription and only the hospital pharmacy can precribe and dispense this for me - my own GP and local pharmacy cannot do it. Maybe if you ring up your childs doctor and explain the situation they may give you a prescription as it's been given before - worth a try before you have to fork out lots of extra cash.

    LSA

Kane's school in Bradford is open but there will be no transport provided
  4. Best thing we ever bought was the trampoline for the garden! Kane goes out all times of the day and sometimes night - before this he constantly bounced on the bed. I reckon that as soon as you get your dx you should be given a voucher for this VITAL piece of equipment!! Think we should lobby parliament!!

    New medication

Hi - probably just going to repeat most of what the last poster has said - so i'll keep it brief!! My mother suffered with A really bad but it is bearalble now due to the Chondroitin. She buys it online from www.healthspan.co.uk and at the minute there is an article by Dr Ann Walker about A. Might be worth having a read! Hope it helps.
  6. I found taking a herbal supplement called "Agnus Castus" helped. I suffer from terrible mood swings when i'm due on my period and if you are feeling depressed as well ,PMT just magnfies the whole situation. Other things that worked for me when i was depressed was hynotherapy and i learnt to meditate. I know that you prob. feel like your in a black hole - but it does pass. I would agree with everyone on here - go to the docs - they may prescrible anti-d's for the short term but if you combine them with a "talking or relaxtion" therapy you'll probably be onto brighter days. Just need to break the cycle! Take care - let us know how you get on. X
  7. Something amazing happens when my son Kane visits his grandparents in Baildon, West Yorkshire - he stops being autistic!! Quote " he's been like a normal little boy" Never witnessed this but as soon as he comes home (after 1hr) he turns back autistic. WOW!
