  1. I take my own food into normal cinema viewings without any problems? I just hide it in my bag, and I don't see how moving round the cinema in a normal one could be frowned upon if its done within reason. Dumbed down is not a good term to use, AS sufferers do have near normal intelligence.

    Baking!!

I think baking is very therapeutic, biscuits are my favourite right now.
  3. Not even my winter tyres could cope with the soft snow, it was simply too much to handle on a slope going uphill on my dad's drive. He tried pushing me up but failed so I had to park elsewhere. Ironically they were coping better when it was compacted icy snow.
  4. I've been quite reserved with a new unit manager, not because she's unkind or anything, I just don't feel comfortable with people I don't know. Later on I've found out she owns a horse so now we've got something in common we both like. I was a bit uncomfortable having to show her how I do my specific job and explain how to do it.
  5. I wear black doc martin boots that still look pretty smart with a long dress on and thick tights, and the doc martin boots are really good at gripping on ice.
  6. yeah we've had snow in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. My car is fortunately very good on snow with its winter tyres so I can go anywhere. The main roads are nice and clear, and I was ok walking the dogs cause there is still plenty of fresh snow to walk on. Its the ice I don't like.

    Pets

they don't all do that. Bonnie doesn't, she's quite good, that's where training and socialising comes in. Dogs don't find the fact you have to pick up mess amusing, its all part and parcel of owning one, comes in second nature to me.

    Pets

Me and my mum share between us two golden retrievers, I work so she has them and I go and walk them and train them.
  9. I can own up to a messy house. Too many other things to think about. Dad has suggested I hire a cleaner.
  10. well apparently I should have called her mobile number. To me, that doesn't seem right. If a manager is not in, I'm perfectly capable of taking matters into my own hands. The manager has been very picky lately over other things too, I'm thinking of starting to document these things so I can go to my union rep if I have to.
  11. it was my manager who was off sick. she's come back now and she's the one whose asking me to apologise. Its a good thing she's not taking this any further cause I could go above her head to the union if I really wanted to.
  12. I had to leave early from work to get a minor fault on my car fixed. I told my work partner (whom I was going to do a specific job with that afternoon) that I was going, and he was fine with it, then I let my female colleague know and put it in the work leave diary (for H & S reasons). She said I should have really have phoned my manager to let her know, but as she was off sick, I didn't see the point in doing that as I'd already made sure the job was covered. This was last Thursday and when I came in on Monday, my female colleague was normal and chatty so didn't feel the need to bring the subject up anymore.
  13. I did something wrong at work which hasn't got me into trouble, but my other colleague was afraid that it might get her or me into trouble. She is not one to hold grudges and doesn't hate me for it, as we are talking to each other etc, but my manager said I should apologise to her. I'm sorry but perhaps as an aspie this doesn't occur to me? especially when my colleague has not mentioned it since and is showing no signs that she hates me for it?
  14. Um, can't remember, but it might have been close to a U.
  15. I was considered to have a learning disability but they didn't know about my aspergers and no-one would actually take the time to teach me maths at GCSE level or even geography. I ended up going to learn direct to get my maths GCSE grade C. I did French, but had no idea how to follow the exams so ended up just sitting there guessing the answers and went out almost in tears of frustration. I had to repeat the English gcse because I didn't understand the questions again and ran out of time writing a lot of background info I didn't need to put in. I didn't particularly like Science so got a D in that, and Design technology I got a D. Child development was a course I enjoyed immensely and got a C in that with a straightforward exam questions. So most of the time it was me not understanding the language of the questions and the fact that no-one would do 1-1 tuition with me otherwise I could have got my maths and english.
  16. Disk clean up is very easy to find, I do it regularly for my laptop Go to start menu - control panel - then click on system and maintenance - scroll down to the bottom and you should see free up disk space under admin tasks - click on that and make sure its the C drive, then just tick all the boxes it comes up with for things it knows it can delete, and click ok to delete them all.
  17. You might get a bleed in the brain, it sometimes doesn't take a lot. I'd go if you're experiencing those symptoms.
  18. yep its stimming, its something I can't help doing.
  19. I still do strange movements with my fingers, don't know if you can see in this picture but I can see the movements I do.
  20. Hope I don't sound rude, but I was well out of a booster seat by 13 years old.
  21. Things are slightly different for me this year - usually I get a night at my dads for christmas eve/christmas day but this time we're going to step mum's house which her grown up kids are renting at the moment. Family don't usually bother me, and entertainment's good. Anything I want to watch on tv I just record and watch later. Its things like corks popping out of champagne bottles and other sensory things like that. We go over and visit Auntie Pauline and she has her kids and grandkids round, fortunately only for about two hours then I'm off for a quieter christmas meal with my mum and sister and stepdad. Took me a while to get used to all the extra relatives, but its ok.
  22. Speeding is sometimes forced and sometimes isn't. I was once caught doing 35 in a new 30 zone (used to be 40 and due to lack of signs I still thought it was) by a speed trap van. Fortunately they let me on my way with a warning and a breathalyser test which of course came back clean as the only time I have a tipple is at Christmas, and this was coming back from work. So next week I'm coming through a known 30 zone area and police car comes up behind me so I steady down, and he overtakes me and drives off way over the limit. I mean, why follow the speed limits if police can't set an example?
