Tensing Report post Posted March 17, 2006 We have just returned from a visit to the Community Paediatric Consultant with my 8 year old ?NT? daughter. Basically the Doctor believes that she almost certainly has either Asperger?s and Dyspraxia or DAMP (Deficits in Attention, Motor Control and Perceptual Abilities). Surprisingly she is thrilled as she has been jealous of her brother since he was first diagnosed.

DaisyProudfoot Report post Posted March 17, 2006 <'> <'> <'> Ah well, at least your not learning from scratch! I sometimes wonder with my dyspraxic 13 year old whether he's also an Aspie but hides it better!

justamom Report post Posted March 17, 2006 Hope you are ok with the results, like daisy said at least you dont have to learn from stratch and are somewhat of an "expert". My dd has said on numerous occasions that she too wants to be AS then she would also get all the attention. justamom

Tensing Report post Posted March 18, 2006 Well we have a six month wait (atleast) to find out for sure, when she sees the appropprate assessement teams. She is very odd and so I can't say it is a complete surprise, the Dyspraxia I have been fairly sure about for a while, but Aspergers is a bit of a shock.
