something vague Report post Posted July 30, 2006 OK I admit it - I cheated on this one just 'cos i wanted another go!! It's a song called 'smile' by Dick Van Dyke and Brian Wilson Pickett... Now, the reason why I cheated... Below are the lyrics to two completely different songs... 1 - Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah 2 - yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah L&P NO NO NO you're wrong so I dont know how you cheated. You cannot push this song aside, someone must recognise it. You got Brian Wilson (Pickett????????) but the song isnt smile and I never heard Dick Van Dyke singing this tho it might be interesting. Some more lyrics for it: - A diamond necklace played the pawn Hand in hand some drummed along, oh To a handsome man and baton A blind class aristocracy Back through the opera glass you see The pit and the pendulum drawn Columnated ruins domino Canvass the town and brush the backdrop Are you sleeping? Hung velvet overtaken me Dim chandelier awaken me To a song dissolved in the dawn The music hall a costly bow The music all is lost for now To a muted trumperter swan Columnated ruins domino I'm going away for a week, hope someones got the answer by the time I get back. AND NO CHEATING!!!!! As for the songs with YEAH YEAH YEAH in them well they probly something by Nirvana, beetles, REM or anyone else for that matter but putting lyrics like that up is just plain silly SV
littlenemo Report post Posted July 30, 2006 SV - what BD was trying to say (but got wrong cos he was trying to be clever ) was Surf's Up by Brian Wilson and Van Dyke Parks from the longest-awaited album ever - Smile And seeing as BD cheated, I thought I'd google his 'yeah yeah's, and suprise, suprise he got that wrong too . There aren't 2 songs with that many yeah yeah's but 753! And I'm not going to list them all for no-one! So here's another lyric (with real words in!): Bad girl, Cutie, what have you done, uh huh huh (baby don't do it) Slippin' slidin' down-a Highway 31, mm mm mm (baby don't do it) The traffic lights changed from green to red They tried to stop but they both wound up dead (Death-cab for Cutie) (Death-cab for Cutie) Someone's gonna make you pay your fare

littlenemo Report post Posted July 30, 2006 (edited) Argh!!! Put me outa my misery - or i'll cheat n google it! OK - It was the Bonzos (as seen on The Magical Mystery Tour!). I was hoping someone would think it was the band Deathcab For Cutie So here's something a bit more recent: He was killed by a cellular phone explosion They scattered his ashes across the ocean The water was used to make baby lotion The wheels of promotion were set into motion Edited July 30, 2006 by littlenemo

There aren't 2 songs with that many yeah yeah's but 753! Now calm down, calm down... I've followed this link and it doesn't list 753 songs with yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah etc in - it just lists 753 songs that have 3 OR MORE 'yeah's - like the beatles 'she loves you yeah yeah yeah'... NO FAIR!! FOWL!! FOUL!! My two were: LCD SOUNDSYSTEM : Yeah yeah yeah (crass version) & Devo - uncontrollable Urge (which should have been got by everyone who got 'Gut Feeling') Funnily enough, THE YEAH YEAH YEAHS (band) aren't there at all! Now. back to Nemo's, which I don't know but given the boho ref would either be Hawkwind or Bob Calvert L&P BD

badonkadonk Report post Posted August 15, 2006 Apparently it's a band called The Breeders, the two women were Kim Deal from The Pixies and Tanya Donelly of Throwing Muses! Being only 6 at the time though, I'm afraid I had to rely on Wikipedia for an answer http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Breeders Ok, here's my effort.... There's no combination of words I could put on the back of a postcard No song that I could sing but I can try for your heart Our dreams, and they are made out of real things Like a, shoebox of photographs with sepiatone loving Love is the answer at least for most of the questions in my heart Like why are we here? and where do we go? And how come it's so hard? It's not always easy and sometimes life can be deceiving I'll tell you one thing its always better when we're together Fairly recent song so shouldn't be too hard! I love the tone that's in your laugh Gasping for an extra breath Waiting for the time to pass I believe in days ahead Don't spend another night alone Cross and wishing you were dead Mary, you should'nt let 'em make you mad You hold the best you can And Mary, after all the pain is gone I'm always gonna live to be your man I've had it easy now you see When I'm down your'e always there Standing by to comfort me Someday we'll go round the world I'll make the journey so sublime I know you're not a travelln' girl Mary, you should'nt let 'em make you mad You hold the best you can And Mary, after all the pain is gone I'm always gonna live to be your man Cause I'd give everything I have Forget all the things that bring me joy If you could have one day Pure and simple happiness Until that moment comes I'll be here where I've always been I'm gonna be your friend Until the day I die

Badonkadonk xxx Yes, thats correct Artist: Colin Hay Lyrics Song: I Just Don't Think I'll Ever Get Over You Lyrics I drink good coffee every morning Comes from a place that's far away And when I'm done I feel like talking Without you here there is less to say I don't want you thinking I'm unhappy What is closer to the truth That if I lived till I was 102 I just don't think I'll ever get over you I'm no longer moved to drink strong whisky 'Cause I shook the hand of time and I knew That if I lived till I could no longer climb my stairs I just don't think I'll ever get over you Your face it dances and it haunts me Your laughter's still ringing in my ears I still find pieces of your presence here Even after all these years But I don't want you thinking I don't get asked to dinner 'Cause I'm here to say that I sometimes do Even though I may soon feel the touch of love I just don't think I'll ever get over you If I lived till I was 102 I just don't think I'll ever get over you Your turn 'Badonkadonk'
badonkadonk Report post Posted August 17, 2006 Woohoo! Ok, here's another recent song. "Now then mardy bum I see your frown And it's like looking down the barrel of a gun And it goes off And out come all these words Oh there's a very pleasant side to you A side I much prefer It's one that laughs and jokes around Remember cuddles in the kitchen Yeah, to get things off the ground And it was up, up and away Oh, but it's right hard to remember That on a day like today when you're all argumentative And you've got the face on" My boyfriend likes to sing this song to me whenever I sulk about anything Good luck!
