  1. glad you had a great birthday
  2. with us DS needed to be statemented and have a diagnosis of autism as he is at special needs school and they only take in autistic children DS had to have blood test before they would say he was autistic as they were testing for fragile x as it is similar to traits to autism
  3. my ds is tall for his age and he has asd dd is 16 and 4ft 5 and not going to grow and more a couple of inches if she is lucky she has dyspraxia and was checked out at the hospital for her height where she had to have blood tests and bone xrays
  4. mentioned it to the dr before and she thought it was related to his teeth but that has been ruled out just seems worse this time of year as he gets a sore chin through dribbling
  5. my DS went to a special needs nursery 2 days a week and he loved it there je was picked up by minibus(variety club smiley face one) and every time we go pass it now he turns around and says its his minbus so the nursery had an inpact on him as he is now 6
  6. will be glad when DS goes back to school he loves school and the routine with it
  7. with DS we noticed when he was about 15 months old as he started headbanging and his speech was delayed and also didnt interact with people or have age appropriate play and would eat everything and anything and didnt like his routine to change I knew it was autism straight away as did a college course years ago on special needs and went into detail about autism was seen by speech therapist when he was 16 months old who referred us to the children's center for assinments we then had a dignoiss by the time DS was 2.5 which was early
  8. ds does this all the time has been doingit since he was a baby and now 6 just wondering if this is to do with asd or not Teeth are fine so not caused by teeth
  9. also with the carers allowance it is classed as an income so would have to let tax credits know when you get carers
  10. that is fab new to hear that the staff were realy good glad your DS is on the road to recovery
  11. DS doesnt like using toothpaste to brush his teeth well this little story might give you all a laugh instead my DS favotite trick is if someone leaves the bathroom door unlocked(have to keep it locked) is to go into the bathroom and put the toothpaste eveywhere yesterday we had 2 perfect handprints in toothpaste on the bathroom mirror also had footprints as well over the floor
  12. we went to dorset this year and it was a small camp which had soft play and a swimming pool which ds loves we also took my step mum with us which was a big help also the site we were on was a country setting with lot of woodland walks and also a fishing lake DS loved it there as did his big sisters as they could go out and about by themselves the only problem we have is that we have to stay with the same firm for the charters (found that out last year to our cost) so looking at going to the same site next year we already have the brocher here and DS thinking he is going on holiday all the time
  13. going to have a word with the OTs afetr the new year HI would cover it but 100 excess on the policy so not realy worth doing it through them normaly when DS is in headbanging mood he is put in his bedroom(waiting for the walls to be padded at the mo) what normaly starts the head banging is something going wrong he ripped a train ticket up when he was playing upstairs
