But if you score low, don't worry the EQ like so many other things can be improved, but it is a guide to perhaps where you might like to improve as regards questions at least, the body language thing is another matter but that can be improved also via relevant training.

Beware of what others tell you as you have to ask yourself how qualified are they to judge others and is there a set standard that everyone must be to be considered normal, whatever that is. The things you speak of, recognising body language all of it can be learned by ASD and it is some of the experts on it have learned it as not everyone understands everything because if we did upsets could be attributed to mean actions nit failure of communication said or otherwise But IQ is what aspies are known to have high factors in when the reality is intellectual intelligence means nothing when one has to exist in a society for what is more important is your EQ or the emotional quotient, test yourself and assure yourself you are not what others think you are and be confident in what you are as EQ is another thing that can be developed so even a low score is not the end of the world. But you have to ask yourself why you seek diagnosis, what will be achieved by it and I do understand the desire to put reason to failure, but then everyone fails from time to time, no one is immune from that.

Then to clarify ; Ordinary members can no longer post links to external websites without prior messaging a moderator who will then verify the link as to how safe it is and then message the ordinary member to say they can post that link ? A question based on the above ; where does personal bias fit into this, can it exist that a moderator can decide against an external link because they disagree with the content ? Do other moderators have access to other moderators private messaging, because the situation exists that if one messages a moderator who is online at the time, that moderator can go offline as suits their lifestyle and might not be on site again for any amount of time there leaving the ordinary member unanswered, of which I can tell you now ordinary members could very well be upset with ? You see, I have experienced what I suspect was moderator abuse of privilege on this website before, where a moderator sought to silence my questioning and there pursued me via private messaging asking asinine questions not related to the topics in hand of which I found deeply upsetting and indeed threatening and having experienced that I can't quite forget and so I will naturally be suspicious and what occurred today has reignited that suspicion, I am sure you will understand.

I am sorry, it just seemed kind of curious that this topic should suddenly appear initiated by a moderator of whom I had requested clarification from regarding another topic, a poster who had responded to my request by going off on one which was as I have previously mentioned I believe was uncalled for and quite upsetting, leading me to understand a different approach, that of requesting clarification instead om my usual approach was not welcome nor indeed the right way to go about seeking understanding. Now I totally appreciate some are not interested in what I have to say as I do understand what I can be like sometimes, but the solution is to answer the question in the politest possible way so as not to cause upset, not exasperate the situation by ranting against and then initiating threads such as these which to me come across wholly as retaliatory given the obvious mood my request created, where I suspect what I warned against back at the new year where we had that round of nastiness leading to the resignation of some members, that of moderator abuse of privilege.

There exists a problem with your desire to verify all links by having members message moderators to request if they can post such a link, the problem is, moderators are not always online, so what are people to do, wait for mod approval as and when a mod appears and do all mods have access to other mods messages ? But if one has to wait for approval when they are perfectly capable of verifying links themselves, what is that going to do to any essence of help on this forum, for people having to message a moderator for permission it is going to kill help for people will be less inclined to go through all palaver to help someone else ? But the internet is what it is wherever we may wander online we exposed to countless dangers where we are free to download whatever we wish and reap what comes with it, it is why most have anti virus and anti malware protection for just such an occasion, so really there is no need to seek to protect people's hardware when they are capable of doing it themselves as to face it, no other website makes such requests, so why here and further to that no other website requests such as you are here, so what's the real reason ?

Mine is not a link because links will be blocked as certain entities and their sympathisers don't like the truth being known. Well there is the CAB but they are over subscribed in these dire times, but other than that there is only MIND of which I have already stated. But a clue to finding anything else which might be useful is where they derive their funding from, where both MIND and the CAB are charities, as anything government funded will not be useful as the government will not support what opposes them.

We vote for what is presented because we have been trained to vote as it is our one and only say in what rules us in this representational democracy which is barely a democracy itself. But what is presented is the problem, which is party politics where what a party supports is not those fool enough to vote for them, what a party supports and promotes is paid up party members interests, that is, you don't pay for a party they do not represent you. What is happening is policy not necessity, this evil that is being meted out is on the same targets this ruling party aways attacks and we know that from history yet we never seem to remember come election time, but we always fall for the same old ploy; tell them what they want to hear, get the power and we can do what we want. The last government engaged ATOS and created the ESA system, the present government is applying the last government's policies with increased vigor therefore that demonstrates adequately to me neither of the three main parties will ever receive my vote again for there is nothing like experience to teach one the error of their ways.

You have to understand Alex the corporate world is forever looking for ways to maximise it's profit and minimise it's expenditure so it will use whatever it can to achieve those goals as the reality is a workforce in their eyes is a necessary evil and something they can do without if they can so they will employ every dirty trick in the book and more besides to achieve their aims. If you seek employment you have to submit to what prospective employers will do as the choice is tow their line or don't apply.

Finding jobs that ticks all the right boxes is one thing, finding an actual job in that profession is a completely other thing as has anyone noticed at all jobs are scarce out there and there is another problem fit yourself up with a narrow profession and you might find the future very difficult due to the lack of opportunities in that field of expertise, there is two highly qualified people around here on the dole because there are no jobs in their field of expertise and they have been told they are over qualified for the jobs they have applied for so menial work is out of the equation. The key is as Mike said learn to cope with you currently can't and then the scope of employment opens up to you.

What people have to consider is what alternatives are there to benefits when there is no work to be had as to understand a life of benefits is not a lifestyle option, what else is there when there is no work ? What I can see is one of two things the first being a life of crime and the second being starvation and death, because no money means no roof over head no heating, no food, nothing. Are people understanding this what removal of benefits actually means ? As not everyone has the safety net of families to fall back on. But let's talk about this suggestion that the slave labour scheme leads to jobs, firstly, why would a paid position be made available when a company can have an extra pair of hands for free ? Does anyone at all see the potential for abuse here ? Then there is what a person has to do in their placement which is anything the bosses demand as to understand if they refuse a nasty report goes back to the DWP who do what ? Paid workers can refuse anything that is not in their contract but unpaid what contract do they have, they don't and so must do what they are told or face death, because that is the reality of no benefits, it's not punishment it is execution by starvation and exposure, basically what we had in the nineteenth century in twenty first century Britain. But this is the minister's response to the court ruling And to think I once believed in this country enough to join the armed forces where I fought on behalf of this country and this is what this country does to it's own people, I am completely disgusted this is not the country I was brought up to believe in.

From experience everybody has their own problems which are their main and primary concern and when the low times hit they are the only concern. Times are hard for most, everybody is suffering with many seeing their hopes and dreams melt away where they are thinking what is the point, so with the problems that we have where he hope to get mental and emotional sustenance from others we have to ask ourselves are we being selfish ?

One thing i have discovered about the NHS is if you want something you have to ask for it, otherwise it will be a case of you will get the least possible and if at all in some cases. My problem has always been I am too passive but when I try not to be too passive it comes across as aggressive and they don't like that, where if I return to what I usually am, I get that feeling of being short changed and nothing is ever sorted out. But today, a hospital appointment regarding skin moles, an East European doctor I could hardly understand but he was very polite and friendly and I believe went above and beyond which surprised me, one mole he said was no problem but because I said I ideally didn't want it, he froze it there and then and said it will be gone in a few days, the other he said not to worry, it's early caught but it is pre cancerous and an appointment has been made for two weeks time to have it surgically removed, so, I am impressed with today's outcome, but just a pity it took six months to get the appointment due to the health authority not sending out appointment letters and then phoning me up the day they had me booked for the appointment to confirm I was attending, where I knew nothing about it. And that after they telling me six months ago there were no available appointments for at least six months, but there were appointments I wasn't informed of in those six months I was told there were no appointments available. But with the NHS it is hit and miss, sometimes you get excellent service above and beyond, at other times any credibility they have earned is ripped to shreds. Oh and I am not worrying about the problem mole, it will be gone soon and besides I have more pressing matters to consider as the result of recent tests, but again I am not that bothered as it will be all sorted out as long as I ensure the medics remain focused.

But there is a way forward regards self employment in that one can let their product sell them as many aspies excel at what they make and their product does indeed sell them where they lack the often vaunted social skills many seem to think are necessary. As it is with my own venture I have found someone who will promote and sell my work for me, a necessary step until I get moving, after which I will take the reigns for myself once the mechanics of the operation are up and running as there is no point being able to promote oneself until one has the mechanism in place and proved working to back up that self promotion.

The question has to be asked , what do you hope to achieve by pursuing such a diagnosis ? On receipt of such what would you do with it ; use it for further development, correctional training or as an excuse why you have certain issues ? I have ADD, it has been suggested before, but I will not pursue a diagnosis for this one given the AS diagnosis is useless at best and damaging at worst as an AS diagnosis can close doors as I have found, but then I am an adult where adults don't matter.

How about this, autistic is just a new line of thinking to add to the already existing differentiations of which the subject of this thread is, but where the Myers Briggs seeks to include different thinking types autism seeks to exclude and treat and yes, the industry that has grown up around ASD does motivate diagnosis. To me the AS diagnosis was a tool to access and aid further understanding where I now understand the AS diagnosis I have could be an incorrect assessment through what I know of the chromosomal aneuploidy that I have which describes autistic like behaviour, where what it is, is not autism and I do know I differ from many AS individuals, which is what caused me to investigate further, I knew AS was not the whole truth of me and so I wonder about others given the AS label, which is why I bring up such subjects as chromosomal variations as for example Rett's syndrome erstwhile called the female autism is another chromosomal variation. But looking elsewhere, it does seem INTJ does seem to feature AS like characteristics where social interaction is not a strong suite and the obsessive narrow beam focus is, but the question is, is this autism and so a disorder or is it really a difference of thinking that has a use to society that we are effectively removing from our future by calling what we are as nature/God intended something we don't want in our brave new world ? Who ever said everyone had to be social animals or even derive pleasure from social interaction and let us remember history is littered with loners that have achieved and changed the course of humanity, do we wish to remove those people from our future by dumbing them down with what is in reality a useless diagnosis ? Let us remember psychologists exist to promote their own discipline and let us also remember psychology was pseudoscience once as was psychiatry, that being these new professions really are that new and they do not know everything yet or indeed anything at all beyond their own theories.

I am also interested in all these theories because I believe Autistic is too simplistic, it is a throw away term, a fit and forget when there could so much more to it, where personally I am researching the X chromosome because I have a chromosomal aneuploidy as well as a diagnosis of AS, but there are other theories to include foetal testosterone and the Y chromosome, of which I believe a simple diagnosis of autism negates. But then that is my interest through being an INTJ scientist, I question established ideas. Not that I am a scientist in real life I was always been into engineering but I am fed up with grease and oil.
