    bedtime

I try the "Blackmail" trick . Now it's Dec 1st he has a advent calander, so if he plays up i say he can't open it in the morning. It not always foolproof he does still stay awake for 3 hours at a time (he has ADHD) , but it makes me feel like i have some athority
  5. T wants to "Watch" Little Britain he knows they swear and it's not suitable for him (he's almost 10) but that makes him more drawn to it . My son has Tourettes(amongst other things) and swears, so there is NO WAY i would let him watch it. He already voices the word "b**ch" which i have never used and i don't wish to add more to his vocabulary. But that is out of order that trailer for that time of day!! on your behalf!!
  6. I'm having a grant for T to make the back garden safe. I've had various builders around to try to level off the garden as it has a small wall which drops onto Patio. They want to create a see through wall around the garden area and sort of soft play it (i think with soft material). They will take down the trees and the bushes (as he tries to climb them and the bushes are overgrown)and put fances up. Anybody else have a grant to make their garden safe for there autistic/ADHD child?
  7. Awwww Clintess, i understand totally. T is very angry and lashes out all of the time. He is with CAMHS. They should help you (mind you i'm still waiting for advise to divert his anger). Is he on any medication? T is on Equasym 3 times daily and this seems to have cooled him down somewhat. He still gets his moments of pure !!! I hope you get some help soon, you'll have to go to the GP or social worker and stress how serious it is, and keep on chasing it up, or they just don't listen. Thats in my experience anyway. HTH
  8. Yes i've seen this before, it's really good
  9. I put my vote in as i'm in Cardiff
  10. There are alot of playstation and games obsessions. I forgot to say T hates anything fizzy and cold as in ice lollies etc. I'm pleased to see i'm not the only one here with the weird obsessions. Also the windows have to be closed, we have 3 cats and he thinks they will escape ..
  11. Aww minerva poor you. T is like this, he thinks he can just take them eat them there and then, i have to keep telling him they have to be paid for. Your friend must know that he has problems, also taking him back to apologise etc shows you care.. i think you did the right thing
  12. Thanks Helenl53 and carole, that is good advice there, now to find the people to ask. i'm going to get onto the SW tomorrow and see if they have managed to get a bit closer in getting me one, as he needs to get out, or he'll have to be surgically removed from the PC ..
  13. T is 9 and he is on the PC 24/7. ATM he is making "movies" and looking for the "perfect ringtone" (ps he has no mobile phone ), and playing stickman and making his own scenes. Also he likes listening to happy/sad/fast /slow songs.. I'm interested in seeing what yours do on the PC, because i'm nosey ...
  14. Thanks arnya Sometimes i wish it was football clubs, soft toys just don't do much for me , and T seems to think we are in the Wild west and flys are Mosquitos coming to "Suck his blood" ..
  15. Toby started with boxes, then Thomas the tank, then to Felt tip pens, to the colour "green" then to Soft toys (he has hundreds and has to arrange them every night ), then to Mosquitos. Life is never boring at my house
  16. i'll show Toby this when he gets in he'll love it
  17. Thank you ever so much for replying. Toby had 2 "friends" in had school and they were both girls, they have since moved onto high school which is sad. He is "babied" alot by girls and seems to enjoy this , he doesn't really "gel" with the boys at all. what clubs are there? I've exhausted everything for him, there was a sports club for special needs but he didn't like it, he got tired very quickly, and another one which he just wanted to look at the tuck shop . now there isn't anything for him . Thanks for your reply, maybye i'll get something from my Social worker when they decide to pull there finger out and give him one .
  18. I don't have any help for my son toby (9). We have DLA etc and he is in a special unit in a mainstream school with a 1 to 1 for about 2 hours a day (i know cr*p isn't it), and we have a blue badge. But he has no social life, he goes to school and thats it! He used to go to a SN music group but that has stopped. Now there is no where for him to go, i haven't even got a SWorker yet. I keep on but it's so slow. I want him to have a nice childhood. My other kids (girls) go to brownies and clubs etc etc. Toby has no friends and just does his computer 24/7. Any suggestions? Thank you so much for listening .

    Risperdal

Hi Calsdad Toby was on this for a bit but the problems with the hunger outweighed the good behaviour. He started stealing food . In the end after stealing bread in handfuls from my friends cupboard i tried something else. I hope it works for you

    melatonin

Hi there. Toby (9) has been on Melatonin for a few months now, first of all it worked but now it makes no difference , so i've stopped giving it to him. He still wakes throughout the night and i try to nap in the day to "catch up". If you do get it i hope it works for you .
  21. My son who is soon to be 10 is has to moved from his mainstream school with a unit to a different one. I don't know where until the Review. But....... I'm scared to death he is going once he hits 11. i'm scared he will be bullied if he goes to a mainstream high school with a special unit, as it's bad enough if you have NO problems. should i opt for a special school? He has TS and Autism and ADHD and other problems. What do you think?
