Hi My son has aspergers / high functioning and he is just like that. this is something the school has picked up on as well.it really can be hard work can't it? normally with autism like to talk about what they are interested in and not bothered about anything else. well that is how Matthew is anyway and will interupt conversations and try and change the conversation lol sometimes he is totally in his own world, mainly when playing, he goes really hyper etc and he will just not answer or talk to me at all! oh and M loves music and singing too!

Hi everyone. I am still about just not had chance to read or post much. am very stressed out at present! we have had an offer on our house finally after been on the market for 7mths. so rushing around trying to view as many houses as poss and getting quite stressed and dizzy just thinking about it all. just hoping it is worth all this hastle at the end of it and hope it doesn't fall through! it is some investor buying to rent out and he seems pretty keen, his surveyor came out today!! agghh and we haven't a house yet! also been back and forth to dentists and hospital last week, can't remember if I mentioned but Matthew and Nathan were playing at the top of the stairs and M pushed N down them! he was OK though thankfully. also half term is coming up next week so need to take some time out for the kids!

he he me too then. we used to always be on the go so on the way back from toddlers on the way to nursery (used to take 45 mins journey) my little ones would eat their lunch in the buggy otherwise they wouldn't get any lunch! or when we are out for the day will grab a pasty and eat that in the street.

Hi Mandy, I was thinking of starbucks actually!! The one at teesside park above borders. I don't have much time at the mo can do mornings before I pick little one from nursery. could do afternoons too much don't think he would sit for long, get bored easily etc!

Hi everyone. well Matthew is back today!! no phone calls so hopefully he is OK. he really didn't want to go though and ran upstairs when the bus came. he told me he was nervous (never tells me normally so step in the right direction) so I said I would tell the escort that he was nervous and she would sit with him and he came downstairs. my mouth is on and off today, just hoping the anti bs will start to do their job soon!

UGH well title says it all really. still having problems with my tooth, been back to dentists today who says it is an infection, so am on anti bs now but have to go back in a week as I if they don't work may have to have it pulled out! Don't really want that. had one out last year and it was awful as it took 45mins to get out and I was in total agony afterwards. also am into third week of been stuck in. it started 2 weeks ago with nathan been off nursery all week with a virus/rash, not ill or anything just this blotchy rash all over, then last week dd and Matthew came out in it. dd only had it for a couple of days whereas Matthew's doesn't seem to want to shift. It is nearly gone but still on his arms. GP said to stay away from people so been very hard!! I just want M back in school, the anoying thing is he isn't ill with it so hyper as ever! so needless to say this situation is doing my head in!! hoping he will be back tomorrow!!

It was really sad when Matthew had to leave mainstream, he loved the teachers that were in charge of looking after him. but he has grown to love his new school and the lady that helps him on the bus! at the end of the day she needs to be where she is going to be happiest the most! well see you soon baggy!

My son is very similar to yours (laughing when been naughty etc, throwing hitting etc) It is hard isn't it. sometimes as much as you love your child you want to end it all. we don't get respite and we don't have social worker. I just think it really effects the family as a whole, can get very stressful and like you dread the end of the day cause that is when he kicks off, or he will go really hyper and his younger bro will copy and they will charge about the place, climbing jumping fighting, it just goes on and on.

Hi My son is just like yours. basically everyone is in fear in this house, we can't say no or try not to as he flips out and will throw stuff break stuff and hit either me, dh or his siblings, he is really nasty to his younger brother! It can be hard can't it, they completly take over the family. But at the same time they need to learn/know boundaries. you have to be firm with them. at the moment matthew's behaviour gets bad when he has to do something he doesn't want to eg get up on a morning! so we have started to give him a pretty stone to put in a pot when he gets up then when the pot is full they get a prize. this is something they do at school, so I am trying to keep things similar to what they do there.
