Be patient, it will take longer, but persistance and encouragement, he will be using the toilet.I got despondent, particularly the soiling bit, because he knew I woul clean him up, so I left him 30 mins dirty, then next day 1 hour , then he learn't after 2, then 3 hours how nasty it was.Toilet was the best thing he realised.

Alot of children on the spectrum have toiletting problems.

My own son was out of nappies by age 3. Now he is older he has explained to me that often he does not 'feel' the need for the toilet until the last minute. Also he has no idea if he wants a wee or poo and so can get caught off guard if standing up and then realises he needs to sit down quickly!

So I believe it is tied alot to sensory processing [as all internal sensations are from sensory information being proce...

Oh and to add we have only been waiting for this appt for 3 and a half years..............

Been there and done that one. And of course it is your fault for the DNA even though you never got the letter!! (Said with heavy sarcasm) For us it was a meeting to talk about the new diagnosis and give as much information as possible the day before the doc stopped work due to cut backs in the dept. Fortunately in our case she was wonderful and knew how long we had waited and struggled and she phoned me at home (and just happened to catch me), told me we had missed the appt. and that...

  8. Feeling very sad, Jack doesnt want to talk to me and is so angry all the time, always wanting to be alone... cant connect with him :(

I remember first Paediatricians appointment with our son. There was the Paediatrician and 2 others and myself, husband and son. We talked about things for a while. My son sat on the floor playing with some toys that were there. He didn't interact with anyone. Didn't come and bring me anything. Didn't seem aware of anyone else in the room. Appeared deaf when the paediatrician called his name. And when she placed her hand on his shoulder to gain his attention he got very dis...

I know you've said before you're not sure when he's ill - is it possible he has an ear infection or something? Has he maybe caught what the little one had? Problem too with not sleeping can also be the overtiredness factor!! Fingers crossed you get to bed soon x

    4. Noskcaj86

      Noskcaj86

He seemed fine after the screaming but didnt go to sleep till 2 am! He always wants his dad next to him while he falls asleep, dad had been lying next to him in bad for about an hour and a half already and he wouldnt settle, dad had other things to do (non stop with 4 kids) so had to come down, thats when screaming started. So think it was to do with wanting his dad there with him, but he couldnt spend any more time up there last night x

  14. I am so ANGRY at everyone and everything! Most people are so mean and selfish, only care about themselves and there own. What a horrible world we live in.
