Baggy. i have read somewhere that drinking water regularly sppeds up the metabolism. I also read in a magazine that sweeteners in soft drinks encourage weight retention as the body gets confused by the sweet taste. Why dont you try the core diet on ww i am doing that and what i like is that you can eat till you feel satisfied with certain foods but the list of food is quite good.Have you measured yourself? I bet you have lost a few inches. Nic

  8. SG, my dd has problems with cutting her food up you can get cutlery that is shaped to help cut your food. My dd has hyper mobility so that is why she struggles, could this be a possiblity? nic
  9. Bit late but happy birthday, glad you had a nice day nic
  10. This is not so much of a problem in my house now. My dd is very conscious of being the same as everyone else just now so she is showering every night, and we are working up to doing it in the morning too. If she is having a difficult time cleaning herself after the toilet she now goes in the shower. I still help her now and again but now that she is going to secondary school after the summer i need to push her a wee bit. We use flushable baby wipes as well which have helped her clean a bit easier. She will not leave the house now without brushing her hair, and is getting much better at cleaning her teeth, i would say 5 days out of 7 we are there now.So much better than our stig of the dump days. Good luck nicola
  11. I love basketball and netball. I played netball for the school team and played both games when i did youth work and afterschool care work. I enjoy most sports and really enjoy watching it being played. When you watch competitive matches it can be really fast moving so enjoyable to watch. nic

Big deep breath!!!!!!!! I started ww tonight, and i am 11st 8lbs. i need to lose 20lbs. I guess i was nearer 12st at the start of the year then. Anyway it is now official i am a dieter. The meeting was pretty boring but i have my eye on some beautiful dresses for the summer so in true dieters fashion i am enjoying a topic bar before i start properly tomorrow. Nic
  15. hi lisa i mentioned it gradually to hayley but it was more explicit when she was being assessed so i felt i had to prepare her. She is very comfortable with knowing and likes understanding herself a bit better. nic

  19. Well we were up late last night and saw some of this.(don't usually watch it) Hayley commented on it. She said Mum, do you think he has Aspergers or Autism? I thought it was ok. Nicola
  20. Cariad, Any material/haberdashery shop will sell velcro. My dd found it very itchy but you may have more luck. We eventually just hunted for the trousers/ skirts with elastic on the back and with the adjustable waists. we would tighten enough that they would stay up but still be pulled up/down for going to the toilet. SG i love the sound of your diet. Bagpuss, you will get there in the end. As with everything, a wee bit at a time. Now i have not weighed myself, but i have been measuring myself. I have lost an inch of my hips, two of my waist and 1/2 ich from my thighs. My bust has gone down from 34E to a DD and i am now a 34D (this has pleased me the most) Three people yesterday asked me if i had lost weight, and my brother commented that i needed a belt for my trousers! Not quite in a smaller size yet on my lower half but have got back into a 12 on top. I have a party in April that i would quite like to look fabulous at so i now have a bit of motivation to say no to the choccy. Keep it up everybody! Nic
  23. Mumble, i hope things get easier soon. Take care, Nic
