  1. Great post, JJ'sMum!! I also regularly watch the Autism videos on YOUTUBE, as you say there some really good and positive images on there. Shame on the bullies of this young boy, may they punished accordingly.
  2. Signed!!! My son is also non verbal and coming up to his fifth birthday, thanks for alerting the forum! Good Luck with it! Lisa xx
  3. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIMON!!!! Have a lovely day, Love Lisa xx
  4. Hello and welcome, I really don't know what to say to except that I really feel for you and hope you get a resolution that makes you happy. Lisa xx
  5. It's not easy at all is it! I have a friend who moans that she only gets a Saturday night out, EVERY SATURDAY!......I would be so happy with that! Some people eh?, if only they could spend a day in all of our (the fm's) shoes! Some people just aren't satisfied......Imagine one whole night out per week?!
  6. You must mention the negative effect of this on your little one to her teacher. How awful for your Child? <'>
  7. First of all, a big hug for Lisa35 >:I understand it can be very hard. It is so difficult to try and find time together as a couple in all of our situations. I miss the freedom and Grandparents willingness to Babysit also! My Out Laws never offer either, I last had them daysit so we could go to my Cousins wedding last March and we had to pay them!! My Mum and Dad both work extremely long hours so I feel difficult about asking them for overnight stays (last time was OCT 2004!), but they do evening sits at our house which is pretty good. We do this around every 6- 8 Weeks. It gives us a chance to go out together for a meal or cinema. Can you not ask them to do this? Your work colleagues sound not so nice, I bet they have 'stuff' they need to outpour also?! Wishing you lots of nice, calm, happy and peaceful times!
  8. K T Tunstall....Black horse and the cherry tree.
  9. Ellis's eye contact is great now! We are so happy with his progress, he was awarded HEADTEACHERS PUPIL OF THE WEEK, last week! He is still not speaking but his use of gesture and eye contact is sooo good, and he barely has a meltdown! He is so good. His EC was awful up until eight months ago, he was very light sensitive as well and that has also greatly improved!
  10. Daisy, I think L&P means LOVE and PEACE! Lisa xx
  11. Deedee, after a certain age, age 4 where we are, you are automatically entitled to nappies so I would think other similar items should be available to you.....lets hope so! I know what you mean about tail chasing!! Lisa xx
  12. Hello Daisy, Welcome back! I am new!, but will look forward to posting with you. Lisa xx
  13. Nellie, It was very good! Moving and had humour in it.......and AIDAN QUINN (SWOON!) I think you'll catch this again, Channel Five tend to repeat their movies several months later! Lisa xx
  14. Simon, I will be thinking of you and your family. <'> Take Care Lisa xx
  15. My sons school provide a free Minibus and Escort every day, try your local council. Good Luck
  16. I know exactly how you feel, shortie! But as long as your DD is eating something and more importantly taking fluids, try not to worry (I know it's not easy!) My DS is extremely fussy and only eats toast, plain shortie biscuits, bread sticks, cream crackers, fish fingers, turkey goujons and fromage frais yogurts ( oh and crisps/choc if I allow them!). Since he too had a bug at Christmas he has been really reticent to eat much, but I don't make a fuss of it at the table, I leave him to it and he will go back as and when for a little nibble! He has Vits and is literally full of beans (not baked ones, though!)
  17. My Son's school nurse filled a form in for him and he recieves 3 nappies per day! We use more than that obviously but it does help keep the costs down! Can you not try your local council?
  18. Hi Debbie, I read the preview of your book, It is so good. Well Done!! I am going to order it, I really want to read your whole story. I bet your Mum would be very, very proud of you! Lisa xx
  19. We also use the MELANTONIN in a drink, so easy to do! And I have pretended it was icing sugar on a doughnut, El lapped it up! The 'bobbles' are a no go for us too, but the powder works fine!
  20. Deedee, Do you not get free nappies?
  21. Yes, I have read this book several times. A friend who is a social worker lent me her copy and I immediately identified my then toddler son with Christophers character traits! He was at the time undiagnosed, the health pro's thought I was an Overdramatic Mum, but I knew! I got my own copy and have read it again and again. It makes me laugh and cry. Everybody show read this book.
