  1. That's good, it wasn't just one person that had problems with them, but glad that you haven't had problems with them.
  2. A friend of mine had the overheating, randomly turning itself off, the colour randomly chipping off, power cable failures, hard disk failures and the list goes on within a few months of getting the thing. Like most things, you get what you pay for.
  3. How odd, last general I had to take ID with me
  4. Is she going to be living in halls? I ask as some universities block access to gaming servers such as those for xbox. A friend of mine lives in halls and cant play his xbox.
  5. Heard too many bad things about their laptops, they break down far too easily.
  6. I'm quite lucky that the local polling place is just at the end of the road. Got an NAS thing the same day and have to get the train quite early so glad that it is so close so can vote before I have to head off for the train.
  7. Just thought some people might be interested, it was linked to by the BPS digest twitter account. It is a program on facial recognition - http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p007bf7z
  8. I'm not sure, but will try and find out. The bell is so bad that it has made me shutdown
  9. That is pretty much my response when people turn up when I'm not expecting them
  10. I support some kind of PR as under the current system you can get a lower percentage of the popular vote and still win the election. This only really benefits the tories and labour as their support tends to be concentrated in rural/city areas whereas a party such as the lib dems are spread out thinly across the country so can get just as big a percentage of the popular vote but a heck of a lot less seats because of it.
  11. I think I know who I am voting for
  12. Something I'm finding really hard at the moment is when people turn up at the flat unannounced. My door bell is a horrible noise and I don't like being caught out unprepared for the person at the door. Most of the time it's the postman and that's fine. My NAS support worker turned up today when I wasn't expecting them and apparently I should have been contacted about it This isnt the first time that has happened, it makes me really nervous and on edge Anyone know what I mean?
  13. I would send as much evidence as possible
  14. All the time! Door handles have it in for me, my arms are always covered in bruises from them, belt loops get caught on them too I swear doorframes move into my pathway when I don't realise
  15. I was pretty pleased with the program, some of them had come along a lot! Especially Tom, he seemed like he was heading in the right direction
  16. Personally I think that having so many smaller groups would be a bad thing. I mean I have trouble keeping up with 2 support organisations and social services as well as various parts of the NHS that handle my care. At least where ASD concerns I can turn to 1 place and not have to try to communicate with multiple places which would just cause a lot of confusion for me
  17. The NAS where I live have been great, we have a coffee group, cinema group, several local pub groups and a discussion group all once a month in the bristol/bath area. I have an NAS support worker that comes 3hrs a week. They have been a lifeline especially the social groups, gaining social opportunities that I wouldn't have otherwise. That said I do have my disagreements with them nationally (latest being the Gary Mckinnon case that I don't think they should have been involved in )
  18. Most brands are gluten free, except ones that are biscuity/oaty/wafery.. So most milk chocolate bars will be ok. Read the labels if you are unsure about it.
  19. Just wanted to quickly update that I got confirmation that I'm getting higher rate mobility/middle rate care Sorry I haven't been around much
  20. It may be the stomach bug that has been going around, quite a few people I know including myself have had it. Mine lasted 6 days and sounds the same as what you described. I still saw the GP just to be sure, but if it is then it should go on its own.
  21. I made a pretty decent chocolate brownie cake with dairy free buttons and a mrs crimbles muffin mix.
  22. My joints have been a lot worse in the cold. I would still try and get it seen though as there might be some more effective pain management that could be tried. I have hypermobile joints and got a diagnosis of HMS just this morning Hope that things get better for T soon <'>
