YAY, GOT IT...we are getting a statement!

Recommended Posts

Just rang LEA and a proposed statement should be issued in a couple of weeks...then the fun and games will begin! I can't believe it, after all these years, my 13 year old daughter is actually going to get some support. What a long journey that has been. I'm in a state of shock :blink:

well done, :dance:

J got his statement last year and its amazing the difference it has made, but its also highlighted real difficulties J has in class as his LSA has witnessed his learning style and his traits within a larger context and she has confirmed many of my own concerns and has been very supportive of the issues I have to face on a day to day basis and now not only has it supported J it has also given me invaluable support.

The forum here has highlighted a lot around proposed statements been illegal so do ensure that the statement quatifies and specifies, which the LEA will be very resistant on, we got there in the end and I have to say it has made a huge difference and its the first step to accessing a more specialist education for him in the near future. ( I am visiting a special facility next week)

You know where we are if you are have issues with the proposed statement.

Best of luck and well done for not giving up!

Well done! :thumbs::thumbs:

As you say, now the battle begins in earnest getting the statement to say all the things it should say! :lol::lol::lol: But let's hope that with all the input you've put in to get this far it'll be a 'done deal' :thumbs::pray:
