carrieq Report post Posted June 2, 2006 Ds has rounded off the last two weeks by destroying his classroom and attacking a classroom assistant with a metre stick. Over the last two weeks he has ripped displays in his room, run out of school 3 times and physically attacked the deputy head. All this has happened since his support has been pulled, funny that.. We have a meeting on Tuesday with school and the Ed Psych so hopefully the school will start getting to grips with the fact HE NEEDS SUPPORT AGGHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That feels a bit better Carrie

LKS Report post Posted June 2, 2006 carrie, well there's a surprise. Child goes in to meltdown and becomes very distressed because his support has been withdrawn Honestly you just wonder sometimes don't you, the thinking behind these decisions. Hope the school will listen to you <'>
jen Report post Posted June 2, 2006 Carrie, Make sure you write down what has happened since your childs support has been reduced and how it has been handled. Put this in a letter to the school and Ed Psy it will be good evidence for extra funding. The school and ed psy sometimes leave things out so if it is in writing that you have written evidence what happened and how it affected your child and his access to education. justamom Report post Posted June 2, 2006 Why dont they look deeper into the behaviour and understand why it happens?? The child is not bad his behaviour might be but why because his support is withdrawn which is entirely their fault so they should not blame your son for his behaviour he cant deal with the change and it they were clued up on ASD they would realise - they cant cope with change. Hope i am making sense...
