  1. Yeah, so do we, hooray. Watching an old episode of 'The IT Crowd' or the DVD of 'Galaxy Quest' is almost as good as chocolate when I need cheering up.
  2. Good idea, Delyth - I'll give that a go. Billabong

    The IT Crowd

Does anyone watch 'The IT Crowd'? We loved series 1 and 2 (and DH really identifies with Moss). What's happened with series 3 though? I think they threw all of the script lines into a bag, jumbled them around and picked a few out at random for each episode. It's very hit and miss, mostly miss. Drat, they should have left it on a high at the end of series 2. Billabong
  4. I'm still musing over the majority Christian nation (71%) which Warren quoted - I'm not doubting you, Warren, just the source and its interpretation of numbers. I wonder if that's the apathy vote? (I'm writing this from my Christian viewpoint!). Anyway, Christmas for me is midnight communion when all of the commercial trappings of Christmas seem to fall away. 25 December is something of an anti-climax after that, especially as we're miserable gits and don't get to see family until afterwards. Easter's the one that really makes me want to celebrate. Billabong
  5. Funny that, yesterday's was a crown, once I peeled back the cat's head (ouch, that sounds nasty - and it's labelled 'Cute Nativity'). Billabong
  6. Would you believe it? It finally snowed properly in our little north-eastern town ... just when I was away for a few days in Spain. I'm so glad there are some of your lovely photos to see. There's still some snow around here and some extremely icy pavements which makes for an interesting walk home from work. Any more snow before Christmas? Billabong

    Hi

Welcome, Wizz. I'm sure you'll find this a helpful, informative and supportive forum. Billabong
  8. Hi there I'm not in your situation at all but want to join in the congratulations - am mega-thrilled for you. <'> GREAT news!! Billabong
  9. I tried Avena (Avena Sativa, think it was) some years ago for insomnia and it worked really well to start with, then didn't make any difference. However, I discovered there was something in it that sent my cat barmy. I only had to leave an emptied glass around and he'd try to stick his head into it, then turn into a manic cat. It definitely didn't have that effect on me!
  10. I wish I could think of a sin to confess to, but I'm just perfect, too, too perfect.
  11. Out (Something strange happened there; I though Enid's post was the last)
  12. Chicken (that's assuming Enid comes from Yorkshire)
  13. Ooh I like the sound of Clarocet! What is it and can you get it OTC? And I really must try Rescue Remedy again; I like the thought of pastilles. Billabong PS do any of these help you stop feeling lonely and isolated? It's just one of those weeks!

    Very Bad Cat

Do you think she is compensating for the grumps (as in grumpy, narky people) you've had the displeasure of coming across today? I wonder if there's a laughing cat icon somewhere?
  15. Hi Baddad I usually put 'AS (not diagnosed)' ref my husband - managed to miss it off in error in that posting. I've respected and understand his unwillingness for official diagnosis, especially after I posted a request early on about what people's experiences were, in relation to DH's fear that diagnosis would affect his future job prospects. And he doesn't want to go for diagnosis even if that weren't the case. We've read enough and done enough online tests (OK, not always the 'be all and end all') for both to accept that he fits the profile, and to work with it rather than against it. Thanks for the link though. Billabong
  16. 'The Language of Others' by Clare Morrall. I really enjoyed one of her other novels, 'Astonishing Splashes of Colour' so looked up what she'd written since. Hey, this one happens to be about children and adults with AS! It's good so far. Anyone else read it?
  17. Hi Sheena Welcome to the forum <'> from another wife of AS husband. I won't add anything else - sent a private e-mail to you a couple of days ago (it'll be indicated under 'new messages' in top right hand corner, in case you've not come across it yet). All the best Billabong
  18. Yes please! (Take it as read, if it's chocolate, I'm interested).
  19. I wonder why brownies are called brownies? Mine came out black all round the edges and smoke wafted out of the oven. Blackies, anyone?
  20. Hi Beth Welcome to the forum <'> >: I'm sure you'll find lots of support and advice here. Re going for a medical interview, I can't speak from my own experience (I just hate going to the doctor and feel anxious that I'll not say what I mean to say!) but am sure that the medic you see will be thorough, in which case he/she should come to the same conclusion as two other professionals. You should be able to take someone with you - your wonderful mum maybe? I'm also sure that you'll get helpful comments via this forum from people who've been through the interview/assessment process; I've seen several threads already along those lines. Kind regards Billabong
  21. No, it just means you have a super-evolved brain that is compact. And I guess you have the advantage of cheaper hats if they're children's. Be careful not to wear pixie-hats though.
