  1. I would like to know this too. I looked around the net and all I could find is a register held by the local council. Is this the register or is it something else?? KW
  2. I have had a little search on the net and all I could find was this :link Not sure what to make of that KW
  3. I hadn't heard that either but would very interested to find out KW
  4. Well done Lil me Keep fighting the good fight PinkSapphireAngel - I am only at the start of this process and about to appeal a refusal of Statutory Assessment. The whole thing is very hard on a relationship, read somewhere that 80 percent of marriages involving an ASD child fail KW
  5. I agree with that Baddad - I have been a reader of posts on a few boards before tentatively joining. When I joined (and still somewhat) I felt somewhat fraudulent as I didn't know much about ASDs and my Son had no DX. Reading others posts has helped me to be as you put it 'loud and proud' about my Son. Who now has a DX of ASD. It is a very confusing and isolating time when you start that journey, but maybe they will come out of the woodwork so to speak. KW
  6. Hi, I have been searching for a book to explain it to L's Grandparents and found this one:book The NAS website has some interesting books too. KW
  7. L has big brown 'chocolate button' eyes and long thick black eyelashes (he gets the lashes form me and hubby). L has also had comments on how handsome he is. Hubby's theory is that it is a defence mechanism, as we would have battered the granny out of him before now if he wasn't so cute!! KW
  8. If I bother to vote it will be for Pete. Thought his popularity might suffer is Nikki came back in and it would appear that it has KW
  9. Sounds like a great holiday - sorry you are so poorly - take extra special care of yourself KW
  10. Hi, I did the postal version of WW a few years ago. I did okay, but did better when I previously joined actual meetings. I have also done Slimming World just after having my Son. I did okay on that too, but stopped following it and the weight came back. I am around 2.5 - 3 stone overweight and would like to lose some but find I can't sustain any of these 'eating plans' for any length of time. I have been drinking a lot of water during the hot weather, and since giving up smoking a couple of months ago. I have found that I was often thirsty rather than hungry but didn't realise. I also found that drinking the water gave me something habitual to do rather than smoking or nibbling. It took a few weeks for me to get in the swing of it but I have lost half a stone in the last few months. I also cut out some of the alcohol as it was really bloating me. Still drink - just not as often - was getting to be most evenings. I also have either weetabix or something oat-based in the morning, and have found I am less likely to snack during the day because it sustains me better than my old favourite of toast or cornflakes. I hope you find WW good for you, it does work if you can stick at it KW
  11. Fatboy Slim - Greates Hits Only like a few tracks - the rest are annoying, but Son seems to like repetion and funny noises on a lot of the tracks
  12. Sounds like something from a Tarantino movie ?? KW
  13. Sounds interesting. I would be worried about doing wrestling/pushing/pillow fights with my Son as I think it could easily get out of hand. Hope it makes a difference for you
  14. The Man With Two Brains "All my life I've had this strange feeling that there's something big and sinister going on in the world." "No, that's perfectly normal paranoia. Everyone in the universe gets that."
  15. Hi TheNeil, Sorry about the interview I hope something comes through for you soon KW
  16. I'm really sorry <'> Take a little time and then get yourself prepared for the appeal process - that is what I have been doing. It is gut wrenching when you hope against hope that they will say yes, but hang on in there KW
  17. We took our Son on a plane last September (he was 3.5 yrs) and we took lots of cheap toys. He actually enjoyed the flight. We had cars, sticker books, a mini train set, a set of animals and other small cheap things that we didn't mind if he lost them (all from pound shops). I wouldn't have thought to take all this stuff except his Nursery teacher suggested them. I even gave a spare sticker book to a child who was travelling just with her Mum, and it seemed to occupy her for a bit too. He had problems when he was 1 with ear pressure. So this time I brought a few juices for him to suck on and relieve the pressure. I hope your flight goes well Have a great time KW
  18. Yes, I have been watching this. Hubby thinks that some of the techniques might work with our little one - don't know why, when we have tried them before - and our one is 4 LOL!! KW
  19. I watched this programme. It seemed that the mother of the boy was unintentionally feeding her son things to say. She made suggestions of what he had seen and he agreed/disagreed or repeated them. As for the Indigo child, I am somewhat dubious of that one too. Each to their own I guess KW
